After the whole nonsense with the sand sirens, I realized that the button had popped on my Fire Kingdom overalls, making one side of them droop down depressingly.
I try to mess with the stitching after the chaos, but there's just no fixing it.
"Come here." Jungkook says, taking my hand after the last Siren had been scared off. I let him guide me, the butterflies taking permanent residence in my stomach.
I'm beginning to get used to this giddy feeling, which is both a relief and a scary thought.
His hand is warm, allowing a trail of goosebumps to run up my arm.
He leads me under the deck to the hull of the ship where Dante is currently munching on some hay. His hand releases my own, going to dig through the sidesaddle.
My eyes roam around the hull, noticing piles of barrels, a purple red liquid steadily leaking out of one. Multiple supplies are dumped down here as well, including an abundance of rope and weapons.
"Here you go." His voice finally speaks up, handing me a familiar blue fabric with multiple patches of different colors sewn on.
My overalls that I left at the Inn. He saved them.
"You brought them?" I ask, my eyes wide as I unfold the material, the pants stretching out down to my ankles and making a perfect fit. "I forgot these at the Inn when we went to meet Jimin."
"I noticed." He rubs the back of his neck with his hand, keeping his eyes everywhere but on me.
The fact that he noticed and remembered warms my heart, and I send him a smile, realizing that its going to be very hard to keep my distance from him.
"Go behind Dante and change while no ones looking." He continues to say, and I give him another wide-eyed look.
"Uh, what?" I ask, a nervous laugh following.
"There's no private spot on the ship to change." He informs me. "You're welcome to go on deck to change, but I'm sure you'd have a welcoming audience."
The thought of multiple pirates staring at my naked body gives me chills, and I shudder.
"I'll stand watch. I won't look, and I promise no one will come down here." He's suddenly noble, standing at the door with his back to me.
Sometimes I wish he wouldn't show these hidden moments of kindness, because they make me fall for him even more. We don't have a relationship for anything other than a business transaction, so getting my hopes up is useless.
I go behind Dante and begin changing, his attention now focused on a pile of red apples.
"Namjoon said the sand was at the bottom of some oasis. He's taking us there now." He speaks up, hands on his hips as I slide my shorts off.
"Did he... say anything else?" I ask out of pure curiosity, knowing for a fact that if they were talking about me, he wouldn't answer truthfully.
"No." He replies, lightly clearing his throat. "Why?"
"No reason." I answer, keeping a sigh to myself as my shoulders begin to shrug. "Just wondering."
Whatever he's got planned, he definitely doesn't want me to know about it. Maybe he has a secret crush on me as well? No, that would be ridiculous. He's being sneaky about it, whatever it is.
I button my usual overalls, tucking the red ones back into the side saddle.
"So, this Oasis," I start, walking up beside him and catching him off guard. I push all my confusing emotions to the back of my mind, vowing to worry with them later. "The sand is in the bottom?"
