Agent 8's POV
I didn't have time to think about what happened earlier. Just as we approached the outside of Ship's Nest, our path was blocked by some tentacle lady. She had all her attention focused on Kyle.
"4, what's going on?" 3 asked in a sharp whisper.
For a moment, I could see Kyle tensed up. But he tried to hide that with a casual expression.
"Umm ma'am, if it really is you, I've never seen you in person but, I know for a fact that I did my part. What's left is water under the bridge so I think we should just set that aside and-"
The lady frowned increased
"You were way past the deadline, Kyle."Kyle suddenly looked anxious at that moment, like freezing up. I don't think I've ever seen him this nervous before. He's always been one to act confident.
The lady huffed out loud."I'm going to have to make a trade for a trade."
She snapped her tentacled fingers and the cook's assistants behind her slowly started swimming forward, approaching us. Suddenly, something zoomed overhead us in a blur. BOOM!
The explosion released a splash of colors, blinding our enemies. I turned to see Callie, silently urging us to follow.
We dashed behind the restaurant and swam through buyers passing by. It didn't take too long before we heard the squishing of tentacles treading through the water to know that our enemy had come out of their trance.
I was too busy trying to see where they were that I didn't notice myself being dragged.
I was pulled downwards, just under a set of stone stairs huddled together with the agents.
3 was keeping a lookout while Callie was adjusting some of her equipment.
"Of all places why did she have to be here," I hear Kyle muttered to himself."Who?"
"It's nothing you should be concerned about, 8."
"Well, it probably is if they're after us," Cyan said without turning her head.
Wait even she didn't know about this? Something is going on with 4 that he's not telling.Callie interrupted my thoughts.
"Guys, our priority firsthand is to get the heck out of here. Have any of you come up with a plan yet?"
We all ducked lower as a shadow passed over us. 4 ran his hand through his hair, thinking hard.
"It's me they want, I'll just give myself up and I'll meet up with you guys in a bit."
I hear 3 let out a groan.
"Dude, that's way too risky! We have no idea what they're capable of."
"Well, what other option do we have? Stay here till we're spotted."
"S-s-spawn."
The gang except for 3 turned to look at me.
"The spawn points?" Callie questioned to which I nodded my head."We activated the spawn points before we got here," Kyle continued. He then started to tell us about his plan. We all listened intently.
Once he was done, we all turned to Callie for confirmation.
"I think it's worth a shot. Let's do it!"_____
We waited a few more seconds in hiding before 3 gave out her hand signal. That was Kyle's cue. He came out from our hiding spot and out into the open. I could hear him throw something small, the object hitting someone.
He muttered something under his breath right before the sound of kitchen utensils banging against each other. The sounds eventually faded away. 3 then motioned for us to go.
We swam through the back areas instead, as fast as we could. Most of the creatures were moving in the opposite direction we were going which made it difficult. I've bumped with objects and people a few times and nearly lost track of Callie and Agent 3.
