They soon reached the harbour, waiting for King Sam and Queen Gregoria. Sam was their father's best companion as he called him so, both of the kingdoms had a good trade bonding and all but Alda could only remember about how her mother used to argue with their father, James about Sam and his intentions about conquering the Durian kingdom.

She could recall about the time when her father yelled at her mother when she told him about how her mother instincts beg her to keep her daughters away from Sam and Gregoria. How he yelled at her when she told him that he is just poisoning his mind. He told her, it was just all bullshit and nothing else.

To be precise, Alda herself didn't ever see the aura that her father saw in that person.

Her thoughts were soon broken when a large ship was parked at the harbour.

Sam and Gregoria came out followed by the soldiers.

Queen Alda bowed in front of them followed by the other 3 princesses.

"I hope you didn't face any problem while travelling. The Durian kingdom welcomes you" Alda spoke out.

Sam laughed at her words. "Why welcoming someone who belong and owns the land?'' he spoke out.

Revena glared at him when he said those words.

"Oh my little bubba, you're still the same!" Gregoria exclaimed while hugging Revena. This was the name her mother called her and she hated it with her whole heart cause it reminded her of the bitter memories which her tiny eyes once saw.

Gregoria moved towards Noa, "Oh honey, you're so grown up, I hope you now know that there is so much happening around you than your dolls" she said. Noa gave her an unpleasant smile.

She turned to Lovisa. "You have the same hazel eyes as Sara, I hope your deeds are not the same as her though." she spat out.

Her words made the other 3 girls glared at her with anger fuming in their eyes.

"Oh sweetie, I'm kidding!" Gregoria hugged Lovisa while laughing while Alda gave Lovisa a reassuring nod.

"Let's go kids, it's getting colder." Sam spoke out.

All of them moved towards the palace in the carriages. All of the 3 princesses mum. Alda sighed when her mind crossed about why are they here all of a sudden.

When they reached the palace, it was beautifully decorated, people were dancing, there was various kinds of food and drinks.

"I am awestruck. So much for us? Thank you honey" Sam spoke as Gregoria patted Alda's back.

"It was not for you guys." Noa mumbled under her breath when Lovisa shushed her. Revena chuckling at the situation.

Quinn bowed as soon as they saw them. "Time has passed, but you're still the same." Sam commented as Quinn nodded.

They went in where the people were shocked seeing them as it were mostly princes and kings and ministers of other territories.

"Enjoy ourselves, Quinn will arrange servants to keep your belongings in your rooms." Alda spoke as she excused herself, the other 3 girls, following her like little ducklings following their mother.

Noa was busy in stuffing food in her mouth while Lovisa was laughing at her. Alda and Revena were busy in talking with their guests when a voice was heard,

"Can I have the attention for a while?" It was Sam's voice.

"What is he up to now?" Lovisa spoke out, "I have no idea" came Revena's short response.

"I know, you all have a bunch of questions about what are we doing here? After so many years? Well, I'm obliged to say, I came her for a purpose. A very necessary purpose." he spat.

"I came here to arrange the marriage my eldest son, prince Eldrick Carplett  with the Durian Queen, Queen Alda " he spoke.

The whole crowd gasped at his words. A Durian marrying a Carplett would be the last thing the kingdom would want to see.

Sam continued, "And, of course, what is a queen without a king?"

"SHE'S STILL A FUCKING QUEEN!" Alda's loud voice could be heard through the big hall, her voice echoing.

Sam laughed at her words.

"The party is over" Alda spoke out and the people left the palace.

She continued thereafter, "I know you've always wanted to expand your kingdom and merge it with the Durian kingdom but mother rejected your request, so you waited for the time when become the right age, so you can marry off your son? I should've known-" Alda spoke out but came to a halt when Gregoria spoke out, "Your father signed it." she said making Alda confused.

Sam continued, "When James, your late father, my late friend, was on his deathbed, his kingdom was on the verge of dying, Sara was hated by your kingdom and you know why. At that time, it was me who helped James, who helped the Durian dynasty. I was the one who protected this kingdom from the invaders. I hope you know well how trade works Alda do you? I give you something, you give me something else. He had nothing to give me, but he gave me a promise, a vow, that he'd marry his eldest daughter with my eldest son and return back the entire financial help that I helped him with." with that he held the contract paper with James's signature on it.

Alda snatched it and her eyes widened, not because of the marriage contract but because of the amount of things she had to return back. It was not possible to give him this much at once. If tried to give it at once, she'll have to give up her whole kingdom to him.

"I know you won't be able to return me the amount, I've a deal for that" Sam spoke.

"What is it?" Alda spoke while anger fumed in her eyes.

"Your sisters would marry my 3 other sons too and the kingdoms, the Carpletts and Durian would me merged" Sam spoke out.

Revena began coughing hearing his words.

"Think about it, or you'll have to give me your entire land approximately and your subjects would be snatched from their land, your sisters would be nothing." Sam spoke again.

"I need time." Alda spoke out.

"Sure. You have got the whole night to think about it." Sam spoke and left along with Gregoria who smirked at them.
