Summer Camp

After I finish packing for camp, I plop down on my bed. I can hardly believe it's tomorrow!! I've waited ALL year for this moment to come.

I sat their wondering if Nicole was gonna get there soon. Nicole was one of my best friends. She was suppose to spend the night so we could bring her to camp but she wasn't here yet and it was already eight o'clock.

I went on my iPhone 6 and started playing Subway Surfers when I got a text...I look at it and recognize the number immediately. IT WAS JAY, MY CRUSH!!

Jay: Hey
Me: Hi
Jay: Wyd
Me: Nm
Jay: Oh...cool?
Me: Lol. Wyd?
Jay: Actually I have good news to tell u😉
Me: What is it?
Jay: I convinced my parents to let me go to camp😊
Me: R U SERIOUS!?
Jay: Yeah, I'm honestly surprised they said yes since they kno absolutely nothing about u or ur church. It took a while 2 convince them but it was worth it in the end. Plus, I haven't seen u since school let out.
Me: Wow. Ok, I will c u tomorrow!😊
Jay: Ok. Goodnight😴

Wow. He's ACTUALLY coming. I can't wait to tell Nicole...IF SHE WILL EVER GET HERE!!

Then Nicole FINALLY texts me.

Nicole: YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!!!?!?!
Me: SPILL!
Nicole: EVAN CALLED ME BABE, AND ROSS SAID HE LOVES ME! AND THEY'RE BOTH COMING TO CHURCH CAMP!!!!!
Me: NO WAY!
Nicole: YES!!!!!
Me: OH MY GOODNESS!!
Nicole: I KNOW!
Me: LIFE IS UNREAL, ISN'T IT?!?!
Nicole: THATS WHAT I SAID

After waiting a LONG time, I look out the window and see the car pull up.

"ALYSSA!" She screams.

"NICOLE!" I scream back.

We hug each other and I help her bring all of her stuff inside.

"Hey! I have BIG NEWS!!" I yell at Nicole as we walk in the door.

"Ok, tell me."

"JAY IS COMING!!" I scream jumping up and down dropping Nicole's stuff. I had apparently said it to loud...

"Alyssa!" My mom snapped walking towards the front door. "Don't scream like that in the house!"

"Yes, mom."

"So Jays coming? Who's Jay?" She asks smiling.

"Mom." I whine.

"Fine you don't have to tell me." She says with a wink as she leaves.

"Wow I can't believe it." Nicole tells me.

"I know right!? Bryce is coming too obviously."

"Yeah, have we been struck with luck or what?" She asks me.

"I don't know but this is really crazy.
I've never had anybody from my school at church camp before. Out of all the people JAY is coming." I say smiling to death.

"Same." She says laughing a little.

"Come on let's go to my room." I say as I help Nicole carry all her stuff up the steps.

We walk into my room and I say, "You know you could've left your camp bag downstairs at the front door."

"Oh now you tell me." She says as I laugh at her.

"Oh well. Help me figure out what to wear tomorrow!!" I yell at her jokingly.
"I'm gonna see Jay for the first time since school let out!!"

"Ok, chill out." She tells me. "Hmmmmm." She says looking at me while she taps her chin. "I think blue is a good color on you. What about this blue t-shirt and these jean shorts?"

"Ok. I'll go try them on."

I decided to wear that with some matching blue converse and I was all set for tomorrow.

Basically we talked about Jay, Evan, and Ross all night long and drank four cans of Mountain Dew each. We also played on our phones and watched tv but mainly just talked and drank Mountain Dew.

You might be thinking, ARE YOU CRAZY!? GET YO SLEEP GURLZZZZ, U GOT A BIG DAY TOMORROW!! It didn't matter if we slept or not though because we were too excited to fall asleep anyways.

We talked for what seemed like only two hours before my mom came in and told us it was time to get ready.

After about an hour, everyone was ready except for my seven year old brother Charley😒.

Immediately after my mom started the car I asked if she would put on 91.3 wcsg. It was my FAVORITE radio station. She turns it on and me and Nicole sing and flail around the car acting like maniacs. I was surprised that police car we saw on the way there didn't pull us over.

"Ok you guys, look for the sign."

After about two miles I see it...the sign. It was so close I could almost taste it. Another year of church youth camp. I could already tell it was gonna be one of the best years I've ever had at church camp.

My mom started down the dirt path that went straight into woody area.

I started seeing the cabins and was excited that we were finally there.
