{Evan} (A/N Surprised or naw?)
"OKAY EVERYONE! ITS TIME FOR LUNCH EVERYONE BACK IN!" Heather yelled. I rowed us back in, and I helped Mikayla...or maybe it's Melissa.....I don't know. Anyways, I helped what's her face out of the boat, and saw Nicole walking down the shore to the stairs back to the campgrounds by herself. I jogged up to her, and we started to talk.
"Who'd you go on a boat with?" She asked me. Dang it.....I hope I don't get her name wrong.
"Uh...that Melissa chick. Yeah, I think that's her name....right?" I asked her, unsure of myself.
"You mean Mikalya?" She laughed.
"Yeah! That's what it was." I said. We kept walking and talking, and then she turned away for a few seconds to look around. I couldn't help but stare at her. Her beautiful dark brown hair, with her chocolate brown eyes. The way she wrinkled her nose before she smiled. Her laugh. Her everything. It just amazes me how someone can be so flawless. But what's the point in me even trying? A girl as amazingly wonderful as her would never like a guy like me. Never in a million years. As I stared at her, being a stalker 👀, I think I saw her glance at me. I looked away. What if she noticed me looking at her? Oh crap. By the time I look back, she is already talking to everyone else, and I'm left in the dust. This sucks. I began to walk away, and she didn't even seem to care. She just walked up to that Jay kid, and started talking to him. I kept walking, far away from everyone else. Suddenly Mikayla popped up out of nowhere.
"Hey, Evan. You doing okay?" She asked me. I was about to nod my head, but then I stopped. Why lie and say I was, when I really wasn't?
"No, not really. Nicole is just ignoring me completely." I said. She nodded.
"Oh.....yeah, they aren't the best people to hang out with when it comes to being included. I feel the same way. You want to sit by me at lunch?" She smiled. She was cute. Why not? I nodded in agreement, and then we found a spot away from everyone else.
"So........." I said, awkwardly.
"So let's get to know each other." She replied. Wow....it's like she's used to doing this, and knows how to start up a conversation or something.
"21 Questions?" I asked her.
"Why not." She answered.
We decided that I would start, so I began with, "who's your best friend?"
"I don't really have one to be honest....." She replied looking at the ground.
"Oh....me neither." I replied. Which was true. I didn't really have a best friend.
"Okay. My turn!" She said excitedly. She thought for a moment, and then asked me, "Have you kissed anyone before?" I looked down at the ground. No, to be completely honest, I haven't......
"No. I haven't." I replied. It felt weird to say.
"Oh...your turn!"
I couldn't think of anything, so I used her question. "Have you ever kissed anyone before?"
"No....." She replied blushing. It was kinda cute.
"Oh" I replied.
"Yeah....lets just continue the game. Favorite color?" She asked me.
"Easy! Neon green. What's yours?" I asked her.
"Really? Me too!" She said. I laughed.
"Cool. Okay....I can't think of any more questions. Can we just talk normally now?" I chuckled, and she nodded. Just then our table was called, and we both got up to get our food. I saw Nicole look at me, but I just pretended she wasn't there.
"Evan!" She said, grabbing my arm. I looked at her and tried so hard to keep a tear from slipping out of my eye, and then pulled out of her grip. I walked away, and then sat next to Mikayla at our table. We talked, and laughed, and to be honest, Mikayla was really cool and super nice. Later, after lunch, we went swimming, and the girls did crafts. I was talking with Bryce and Josh, when Caiden came up, and asked me what was going on between Mikayla and I.
"Nothing. We are just friends okay?" I told him. He nodded.
"Good. You better not give up on Nicole." He said. We kept talking and laughing until they said it was time for free time, so we had to get out.
"Hey, so you don't like Mikayla at all?" Bryce asked me this time.
"Well, as of right now, we are just friends." I said.
"Okay." He replied. That's weird....When I got up from the lake, I quickly changed, and waited till We were told we could go outside. I was about to go play gaga ball, but I decided not to. Just then Mikayla came running up to me.
"Hey can we talk alone for a second?" She asked me. I nodded, and then she took me to a side of the cabin where no one could see us.
"I like you." She said. She does?
"You do?" I asked her, to make sure I heard her right.
"Yeah..." She blushed. I can't seem to figure out why, but I smiled. I looked down at the ground, but when I looked back up, Mikayla was inches away from me. She looked at me, and then she kissed me. I didn't really know how to react. Do I kiss back? Do I push her off? Do I let it happen? My heart told me what to do. Push her off.
"I'm sorry. I have to go..." I said, and ran off. I ran off to find Nicole. We needed to talk. I went to the gaga pit and she was standing on the side.
"I need to talk to you, Nicole. Come with me," I whispered in her ear. We went by a cabin, and no one could see us.
"Okay. I'm starting," she began. "Why did you ignore me after boating and fishing?"
"Because it's like you don't even care! It's like every time we have a chance to have a good conversation, you have to see your other friends. Why can't we just talk for once? Just us two?" I asked her.
"I'm sorry, Evan. I didn't know you felt that way." She replied. "One second. I will be right back." She said, and raced off to Heather. She asked her a question, I would assume, and then came running back with a volleyball.
"Let's go play on the court. But we have to be quieter sorta because Libby or Kylie might hear, and if they do, they won't let us play by our selves..so come on!" She told me, and started running, and a few seconds later, I met up with her at the court.
"So.........what you wanna talk about?" She asked me.
"Uh....can we talk about Mikayla for a minute?" I asked her. She nodded looking at the ground
"Well....earlier she pulled me over behind a cabin where no one could see us, and then told me she liked me and kissed me...." I told her. Not looking up from the ground, she nodded her head again.
"Did you kiss back?" She mumbled.
"At first, sorta. But then I pushed her off. I feel like I might like her too?" I said.
"Oh....really?" She asked me.
"Yeah. But not as much as this other girl. I'm crazy in love with her." I told her. I wanted to add she was standing in front of me, but I didn't.
"Who?" She asked me. I laughed. Just then the bell rang.
"You'll find out eventually!" I yelled, as I raced up the hill. She ran after me, and we set the ball down, and went back to everyone else.
