Boating and Fishing

"Hey, Nicole!" Ross called after me.

"Yeah?"

"You wanna....go on a boat together?"

"Sure!"

We put on our life jackets, and I got the oars, while Ross got a boat.

"You know how to row, right?" I asked him.

"Yup!" He smiled

We got in the boat, and Heather pushed us out. Ross began to row and was looking down at the water. I took this as a chance to stare at him and look at his features. Ross has bright orange red hair, and freckles, with big green eyes. To be honest, he kinda looked like a real life boy Ariel...
(A/N from The Little Mermaid in case you didn't know 😂) if that makes any sense. I kept looking and analyzing, just like the stalker I am, and then a few minutes later he looked up. His big green eyes looked straight in to my big brown ones, and he chuckled and smiled at me.

"Are you checking me out?" He smirked playfully.

"What? No." I replied, pretending to try to act innocent.

"It's cool. I understand. You can't get enough of me." He laughed. I smiled at him, and he smiled at me. It was like the whole world stopped. We talked and laughed on the boat, and then I looked around and saw Alyssa and Jay on a boat together just talking and laughing super hard. They were adorable. I looked around for Bryce, and saw that he was stuck with a bunch of little kids. Awwwwwww! That sucks. He kept looking at Alyssa and Jay sadly, but then his facial expression changed to....jealous? I used to think he liked her, but I thought he was over her? I'll talk to him about it later. Then, of course Heather just HAD to yell that boating and fishing was over. Dang it! Already? That literally felt like 10 minutes. Man, time does really fly when your having fun. Dang. We quickly came back in, and then got out of the boat and put it back, along with our life jackets and oars. I start to walk down the shore, but someone calls my name. I look back, and see Evan jogging towards me.

"What's up?" I asked him.

"Oh, nothing. You have fun with Ross?" He asked me.

"Yeah. Who'd you go on a boat with?" I asked him.

"Uh...that Melissa chick. Yeah, I think that's her name...right?" He asks me.

I chuckled. "You mean Mikayla?"

"Yeah! That's it," He said, laughing.

"Haha yeah. So what'd you guys talk about?" I asked him.

"Oh, nothing really. I tried to make conversation, but she kept randomly touching my arm, or hand, or shoulder or something. It was super awkward. Eventually I just stopped trying," He said. I laughed.

"That's weird...." I said.

"Yup. It sure is." He said. For a second I looked away towards the woods, and out of the corner of my eye, I'm almost positive I saw Evan staring at me. I was about to joke around with him about it, but then Alyssa, Bryce, Jay, Josh, and Kylie all came running up to us.

"Hey, what's up?" Bryce said. I gave him a look saying, "thanks for ruining a great moment!" And he mouthed "oh crap! Sorry!" I told him it was fine, then I started to talk to everyone else. I looked at Jay, and he was just standing there quietly all alone by himself.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked him walking over to where he was.

"Huh? Oh! Yeah! I'm fine. Just spaced out for a second or two." He replied and I laughed. For Alyssa's sake, I brought her up.

"So....what's going on between you and Alyssa?" I wiggled my eyebrows, and nudged him. He blushed and looked at the ground.

"Please don't say anything?" He asked me.

"Alright, fine. But talk to her about it. Okay?" He nodded, and then I left him alone to think, and then I walked over to everyone else.
