Morning Walk Gone Wrong

Waking up early to the sound of birds chirping

You get up and stretch

You decide you'd like to go on a morning walk

You throw on some clothes and head outside

Breathing in the crisp morning air

You smile and wave at the neighbors who are out

They smile and wave back

You walk to your favorite trail

It's a nice and peaceful walk through the woods

Getting to connect with nature is pleasing

But things take a dramatic turn as a tree falls

Missing you by inches

You sigh in relief

Thank goodness you survived that

But things stop there?

No!

You hear howling

Coyotes? Wolves?

You panic

With the path being blocked behind you

You have no choice but to move forward

You frantically rush on

Hoping to not be eaten by these animals

You accidentally run into a bee's nest, and it falls to the ground, breaking open

Now you have to flee from the angry swarm

You rush faster, running from two things now

But luck is still not on your side

As it pours

Now you're drenched and cold

You continue to push forward

But fall over a tree root and get covered in mud

You get up and keep going

Moments later you make it back to town

Having done the trail's loop

You collapse on the ground from exhaustion

Why stop now when you've made it this far?

Why give up?

Life is hard

It will be cruel and difficult

But never give up

Keep pushing forward

Even when you think it's over.
