(TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of car accident but not detailed)

Sunny and I were playing Candy land and laughing. "Yes! Snowflake Lake!" He cheered. "It's my favorite place to end up on candy land!" He smiled at me and read the card. "Can I ask why?" I looked up at him. "Because I really love the snow, its so fun to play in and even though I love colours as much as I do, there's just something better about the white fluffy looking lands when it snows." He played with his character piece as he talked. "Maybe one winter we can build an igloo together... I've always wanted to, but never really had anyone but dad to do it with." He stopped what he was doing and looked up. " That would be so awesome! I'll make sure to come over when we get lots of snow!" He smiled like I had just given him a puppy.

He looked up at me and sorta got anxious. "Can I ask you something personal?" He asked. I nodded. "Yeah what is it?" I asked worried about what it might be. I knew that I'd answer honestly no matter what but I was still worried. "Why are there no pictures of your mom?" I looked around and noticed that his question was valid. There were pictures of dad and I everywhere, but not a single woman. "Oh, I was adopted." I told him. "Oh stars! I'm so sorry for asking I didn't mean to upset you if I did!" He said thinking he was upsetting me. I just held his shoulder and smiled. "It's ok, I don't really worry about my biological parents... They either left me or aren't around anymore, but now I have a dad. One who loves me, spends time with me, and calls me his superstar."

"You have an amazing dad." He said looking up at me and smiling. With how close I was to him I could notice that he had freckles from cheek to cheek. I must have been staring for a while because he looked at me worried and called my name. "(Y/N)? (Y/N) are you ok?" He asked. I shook my head and giggled. "Sorry, I just keep finding new things about you that are pretty. You're a unique person, almost like- no exactly like a work of art. " I told him as he just looked at me shocked. "I don't want to be rude, but... are you flirting with me or just complimenting me?" He asked blushing. "Wait that's flirting???" I asked panicked. " I've never flirted or been flirted with so I didn't know, but I only meant what I said in good heart!" I said in a panic. He just looked at me smiled and looked away.

"It's alright, even if you were I wouldn't mind! I'm just bad with figuring out the difference between the two. I'm not use to it after all." He smiled. "Normally theres something people don't like about me, vitiligo, my tooth gap, how my hair always sticks up, freckles, my fear of the dark, my 'childish' behavior..." He said listing things off. "I think that those things make you ,you, and that's why I like you. You aren't scared to show who you are! I admire that." I said smiling. He smiled back. "Thank you, (Y/N)." I don't know why but it lifted my heart a little the way he smiled at me. Is that what friendship is? I really like it.

Hours and hours of playing games, drawing pictures, making bracelets, and talking lead to dad finally knocking on the door. "You two ready for dinner?" He asked. I looked at Sunny. "You ready Sunny?" I asked. He looked down at the bracelet he was making. "Yeah I can finish this after dinner!" He smiled and we went to eat. Sunny looked at it and smiled in awe, but he didn't touch a bite of it. "Thank you for dinner Freddy!" Sunny said smiling. "You're welcome Sunny, I hope you enjoy it, and if there is something you don't like just let me know. You don't have to eat it." He smiled. "Don't worry, I'll eat about anything!" I giggled. "Well, please at least save room for cookies." Dad smiled and started eating.

"Do you have fun working in the daycare?" Dad asked. "Oh I do! I get to have fun with the kids and do crafts, I get to play tag and be childish but mature as a living. " He smiled. "Do you like kids?" Dad had asked looking up from his meal. "I do! I used to do babysitting before this job because the kids are so easy to make smile, and making others smile is just the best!" I could tell the type of person Sunny was and it was someone who only wanted others to be happy and have fun. Dad could tell too. "I'm glad you love your job so much, and working in a place like the PizzaPlex will be great for any possible future jobs!" Sunny smiled. "It really is the best! I meet so many amazing people there!" He said glancing over at me. It made me blush, but when dad asked I just said it was the food that was to hot.

After dinner dad told me he'd do the dishes and clean up and I should just go have fun, so we left back to my room and continued our bracelets. "Honestly I can't wait to meet you're parents." I said. "If they raised you then I know that they will be just as amazing!" I smiled, but he didn't smile. "Sunny? Did I say something wrong?" I asked. "No! No! Uh... my family was nice, besides my twin brother... he was a little mean and straight forward. My parents loved us none the less, but when I was 13 we got into a car accident... I was the only one to survive. I remember it being so dark out, and then nothing else till I woke up." He said. There were no words to express how sorry I was for him, at least none that would come out of my mouth, so I just held him close to me.

"Please don't feel bad... I've gotten better, besides its nice to tell someone for once... Though I'm sorry if I burdened you with it." He said holding me back. "You didn't, I promise. I'm sorry you had to go through that." He pulled back and held my hands. "I'm doing better then what I was, but I developed a fear of the dark." He said, and I nodded. "If you want to I can hang up some lights or turn on a lamp so you can stay the night... It's too dark out for you anyways." I said giving a small smile. He smiled back. "If it's ok with you, I'd like that." I started to get up to get some lights but I felt something clink to my wrist. I looked at it and it said 'shooting star' on a bracelet. "I made it for you..." He said smiling. "Thank you, I love it!" I smiled and held it. He gave me the biggest smile, happy I loved the bracelet.
