(TW: DID switch, but I promise that it's not bad representation in the way of being evil. I ask that if I do mess something up you please let me know so I can fix it or make it better to not offend people. Thank you!)
I had woken up in the middle of the night and I could tell I was thirsty, but also had to use the bathroom. I got up out of the comfort of warmth and headed down stairs. I started to get myself something to drink after the trip to the bathroom and as I did I looked outside. Rain covered the window and was still pouring. "Why isn't the street lights on?" I asked myself before flipping a switch. The lights didn't turn on. "Power outage maybe? I know it was suppose to rain tonight, but I guess rain turned into a storm." I joked and finished my drink. I heard a few thumps upstairs and it took my mind a minute to process it. "What could that be?... SUNNY'S SCARED OF THE DARK!" I said panicked before rushing up there.
I opened the door and heard him panicked. "Who are you? Where am I?" He asked. "Hey, it's ok Sunny, it's (Y/N) I'm right here..." I said reaching for my phone. I turned on the flashlight and shined it so it could light the room up a bit. "I'm not Sunny..." He said, I took it as he was sort of sleep walking and talking. "We'll then who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" I asked sitting in front of him as to not fully scare him, but to share the light with him. "Moon..." He said hesitant. "Who are you anyways?" He asked a little more calmer now. "(Y/N), I'm friends with Sunny." I smiled holding my hand out to shake his. He just looked at it weird and didn't shake, which I was ok with if this was a dream state.
"He made a friend?" Moon asked. "Yeah, he's my first friend ever, which doesn't mean much since he probably has hundreds." I said rubbing the back of my head. "No, you're his first friend. I use to have to fight off the bullies at school for him because he didn't want to hurt them." I had started to feel like this wasn't a dream state. "I know Sunny always saw me as mean, saying he could befriend them, but was only ever looking out for him." I started to become confused the more Moon talked. "Hey, Moon... can I ask you something?" I had asked. "What is it?" He asked. He wasn't as cheerful as Sunny, but he wasn't mean like Sunny painted in my mind, so I just wasn't sure. "You aren't dreaming are you?" I asked.
Moon looked at me confused. " He didn't tell you did he?" He asked. "I guess that makes sense since the media always shows the worst in people like us." He crossed his arms and leaned back against the wall. "Two years after the accident Sunny was in therapy for it. He couldn't handle it and he grew to fear the dark. The doctor wanted to help, so he turned the lights off with Sunny's permission. The lights went out and so did Sunny. The doctor asked Sunny questions while in the dark, but I was there. I talked to her and once she was done she explained that I was created due to trauma, I shared a body with Sunny, I was his dead brother. Of course it made no sense to me because I remembered everything growing up with Sunny, but he explained it all. I can have the memories of Sunny and what he had before the accident, but after I had to create my own."
I felt bad that he had gone through that. "Once he was done telling me he believes Sunny has DID he asked to turn the lights on to see if Sunny would come back. He did and I don't know what happened, but I guess he told Sunny as he said he would." He was done explaining. "Normally Sunny tries not to let people know because he doesn't know what could happen and he just wants to live a normal life. Not scared someone will not like him for being two people in one." I moved myself to be right next to him. "I like him for him, and if he shares a body with someone else, then I still like him, and I'll just have to become friends with you as well." I smiled and he was confused by it. "You're still gonna be friends with him? Even after knowing I'm also here?" He asked. "Yeah, I mean why shouldn't I be?"
"You know, Sunny did find the right friend, a really cute one too." He smirked. It made me blush but because of the darkness he couldn't really see. I took a look at the time. "Should we go back to sleep?" I asked seeing as to how late it was. "Yeah, but can I ask you a few favors?" He asked. I nodded as a way to say yeah. "Just make sure to take care of Sunny and protect him. He's the nicest person I know, but people can be cruel. I can no longer help him like I used to, so I leave it to you." He said . He was kinder then I thought, and all he wanted was to protect Sunny. "Yeah, I will with everything I've got." I said smiling to reassure him. "Anything else?" I asked. He looked away and sighed. "I'm not a fan of physical touch, but I know how Sunny is... if the power doesn't come back on by morning, you holding him would make him feel safer then ever." He huffed out.
"I've never really cuddled someone to sleep, but if it helps comfort you both through the night then I'm alright with it." I told him and I looked a little closer at him. Sunny's blue eyes were now a red shade, and his puffy hair was laying down. "Can I ask if you're switch has anything to do with your eye colour and hair?" I asked. He looked at me. "Yeah, our eye colour doesn't change, but due to how the light is it looks like they do and I honestly just fix the hair since I know how to." He explained. "So I'll be able to know which friend I'm talking to if I look closely?" He nodded. "Yeah, but Sunny tends to keep the lights on all the time, so this may be a one time meeting." He explained. "I hope I get to see you again, I want to know Sunny for his full self, and if you are part of him, then I want to learn about you too, Moon." I said smiling.
"I'd like to get to know Sunny's friend too, but maybe not tonight." He said laying down. "As you said we should get to sleep, it is late after all." I moved my phone and laid down. "Do you want me to keep the flashlight on?" I asked. "No, no point in killing your phone all night." He said, and so I turned it off. "How do you want to, uh... cuddle?" I asked a little flustered. " He moved over to me and held my waist as he laid his head under my chin." This alright or are you uncomfortable?" He asked. "No, no, it's fine!" I smiled and held him, but in all honesty I was blushing like crazy. "Alright, then goodnight (Y/N), and I'll see ya next time the lights are out." He said. "Good night Moon, I'll see you again soon." After that I heard Moon start started to slow his breathing, which I took as him falling asleep. I just held him, one hand on his back and the other behind his head. I started to play with his hair slightly because it was so soft, and with that, I fell asleep.

I did my best to make sure that when I wrote about Sunny having DID that I did my research and made sure to not give DID a bad rep because I hate when things like that happen. It's the main reason I don't like Toko from Danganronpa. They made it horrible with the bad representation, that's why I ask that if I messed something up about DID or anything of the sort, then please tell me. I want to make sure that I don't mess up and offend people. I promise that Moon will NOT be evil in this, but a person just like anyone else, just a different personality from Sunny. I thank you in advance, hope you enjoy the chapter, and have a lovely night.
