Chapter 8

(TW: Blood, getting cut accidentally, DID switch)

It had been a few months that Sunny and I had been friends and I went to the daycare to help almost every day. Recently I've felt like things have been off with the PizzaPlex. No one else was seeing it so I took it as just paranoia and left it at that. I noticed thing's missing, and people had also started to go missing. There seemed to be things that would normally be safe, no longer being safe even for the mechanics to take care of. No one listened to what I had to say, but I knew someone who would.

I hurried over to the daycare and hurried to take my shoes off. 'Adults shouldn't wear their shoes in here! There are small kids and if you accidentally step on a hand or foot it could hurt them! So no shoes!' I remembered him saying after a parent accidently stepped on a kid. I admired that he cared about the kids more than anything, but now wasn't the time. I rushed into the daycare and looked for Sunny. He spotted me first and yelled over to me. "(Y/N)! You finally arrived!" He said happily coming over. "Sunny! I need to tell you something!" I said as I ran over to him. I heard something start clicking on the floor, but had no time to react as I stepped on something sharp and fell over.

"(Y/N)!!!!!" Sunny panicked and the children looked over to him. I took one look at my foot. "Sunny! I'm fine, but I think it's nap time!" I said smiling the best I could. Sunny took a marker and wrote on his hand before looking at the kids. "(Y/N) Will be alright kids! Just a small fall! Come now it's nap time!" He said, trying not to shake. The kids listened and went to the nap time room. "Are you gonna read to us?" A little girl asked. "Not today, but tomorrow I will tell two stories to make up for it!" He smiled which pleased her enough to join the others.

Once the last child was out of sight Sunny looked back at me. There was blood on the mat due to how deep the cut was, but I covered it up with my body so the kids didn't see. "Oh my stars what happened?" Sunny asked as he ran over, and upon seeing the blood he froze. "I was running to you and something must have fallen from above because I heard some clatter then I stepped on glass." I said, holding my bleeding foot. He didn't move until his hands started to reach for his hair. "Sunny?" I asked. His hair was flattened down by now. "Moon?" I asked again. "What happened?" He asked coming over to me. "Did he leave any notes?" Moon asked. I explained again what happened. "I watched Sunny write something on his hand." I said.

Moon looked at both hands and read them. "These are worthless instructions if they don't help you!" He said. I took his hand and read it. It just said take the kids to nap and pretend to be him. "Alright I've got a plan... Get a janitor to come down here and clean up the glass and blood, then once they get here take me to first aid, I can guide you there." I told him. "No, hold on, there has to be something here to stop the bleeding or something!" He said getting up to look. It didn't take him long to find a blanket and start wrapping it around my foot.

"Where can I find a janitor?" He asked and I pointed up the stairs. "I'll stay here so they know where the glass is but hurry." I said and he ran off. I started to look at the shards of glass, none of them matched any cups or souvenirs in the Plex, and none fit together. "I don't think this was an accident..." I started to talk to myself as I grabbed a few pieces and hid them in my bag pockets. I heard Moon rushing back down with people following. "So the mess is where again, Sunny?" A man asked and Moon pointed over to me. "Right over there sir! Now I have to get (Y/N) to a first aid station!" He said picking me up bridal style.

I was pointing to where we needed to go as I laid there in his arms. I was trying to focus on anything else but the pain and used talking to Moon as a way to do so. " What happened to Sunny?" I asked. " I thought you two only switched with the lighting..." I said, I was confused. "It's more than that, the dark is the base of our trauma, so the switches are more common, but this one must have been from stress. I know I'm worried for you, I can't imagine how Sunny felt." He said and slid into the booth. He set me carefully onto the seat and grabbed everything he could. "Shooting Star... I'm gonna have to pull it out, so you are gonna feel pain." He told me and unwrapped my foot.

"Will you please hold my hand as you do?" I asked which caused him to look up at me. "I really don't like touching people... are you scared?" He asked not looking at me. "Yes, this is scary to me...but I understand." I said closing my eyes tightly and waiting for the glass to be pulled out. "I'm ready!" I said, but I wasn't ready. I felt something warm slip into my clenched fist and hold it. Moon was now holding my hand, and before I could open my eyes to see, he pulled the glass out. I let out a yelp and he just looked at my foot. " I don't think you damaged anything, but the glass got you pretty good... I think you may need stitches, but there are two problems." He told me.

"What are they?" I asked. "There's nothing to stitch you up with in here, and I don't know how to stitch." He explained as he cleaned the wound to the best of his abilities. "In my bag! I have a needle and thread! It may not be the right one but it's better than nothing." I said pulling it out. "(Y/N)! You need to see a doctor not have me do this!" Moon said, sounding a little upset, but he could tell my mind set was 'blood is coming out of places it shouldn't, this needs to be fixed fast.' "It's the quickest option to stop the bleeding!" I said and handed it to him. " Fine but you better see a doctor after today so you can get a real check up!" He said and right before he started he looked in the box.

"oh! Never mind!" He said, pulling out some butterfly bandages. He used them to close the wound and then wrapped it. "Moon..." I said and he got up and sat next to me. "What's up (Y/N)?" He asked, seeming to be more calm now that I was bandaged. "Something weird has been going on here, and it's a bad weird... No one else will believe me, but I believe you and Sunny will..." I told him. "Sunny has been noticing things too..." Moon put an arm around me. "I don't think the glass was an accident." I told him which made him look down at me confused. "What do you mean?" He asked. "I think someone is trying to shut me up before I figure something out."
