5 weeks passed and now it was time for prom. Alice had set up a private venue in the Cullens backyard. Jake had been invited and came wearing navy blue dress pants and a white button up. Rosalie wore her hair in a messy curly updo and had a soft pink evening gown with rose gold heels and jewelry, Emmett wore a black tuxedo with a rose gold bow tie, Alice wore a navy blue ballet dress with silver heels and jewelry she gelled her hair and put in a silver and diamond headband, Jasper wore a navy tuxedo with a silver bow tie. I started showing, and Alice somehow managed to find a gorgeous dress (above) and she gave me a pair of white pearlescent flats and a white gold and pearl bracelet. I did my hair in loose natural curls. After letting Esme take a thousand photos of us we started dancing. The venue was gorgeous with fairy lights and white sheer sheets blocking the patio area. I had danced with Emmett, Jasper, Alice, and Rosalie and even jokingly danced with Carlisle and Esme. I finally got to slow dance with Jake and we talked "So where's the golden boy?" He asked. Jacob called Edward "golden boy' and Edward called Jacob "boy wonder' I called Edward 'Superman' and Jacob 'Green Arrow' (because of his sarcastic remarks). Edward would call me love or 'Kryptonite' and Jake 'boy wonder' I called Edward 'Superman' and Jacob 'Green Arrow' (because of his sarcastic remarks). "Bella forced him to take her to prom' " he winced 'That poor man. How'd toothpick force him?" I giggled at his latest name for Bella "Threats, blackmail, the usual" he nodded. "That's too bad. He's missing out on dancing with the most beautiful woman in the world...or is he?" He suddenly spun me around to face Edward who wore a black tuxedo with a pearlescent bow tie. Even when he was with Bella he made sure that we matched. Jake excused himself claiming that he wanted to try Esme's appetizers. I approached him "Hey Superman" I smiled "Hey. You look beautiful Kryptonite" I smiled "Thank you" "Would you like to dance?" "Oh god, yes!" He pulled me into his embrace and we began to sway. I didn't ask about Bella. I didn't want to, and I didn't really care anymore. Right now nothing can touch me. I'm safe, and I'm protected which is the best feeling in the world.
