Chapter Ten: Relics and a day out

So whatever codes Optimus managed to decode were locations to places of Earth. We only had three locations at the moment. Megatron left to get the first one but came back without it. He voiced his frustration about losing the Spark Extractor to Bumblebee when he got back.

"The spark extractor was in my grasp! I should have removed more than that scout's voice box when I had the chance!" Megatron said annoyed

I showed him that we still had two more locations left to look for more relics. 

"Indeed, Soundwave. We possess two more sets of coordinates which Orion decrypted before departing our ranks. Let us see what other long-lost treasures we might be reunited with."

Primus knows what we will find. But I would like the Autobots to have them. It might give them a better chance at defeating the Decepticons. Knockout soon came back with another Relic. It was a Sheild Generator. Not that we kept that for long. It was destroyed while the Autobots fought for the Forge of Solus Prime. Megatron tried to use the forge to create a Fortress-Maximus Grade Nucleon Shock Cannon. But all he did was flatten a cube of Energon.

The Forge of Solus Prime has the ability to create anything from raw material. But it won't work without the power of a Prime. Megatron may have once called himself 'Megatronus', the name of a fallen Prime, but that doesn't make him a Prime. So he can't use it. None of us can. But there was something that came to us that might be useful. His name is Dreadwing.

He was a Decepticon that served Megatron a Long time ago back on Cybertron with his twin, Skyquake. The bot that Starscream woke to serve him but was later terminated. Dreadwing is about as Loyal as I was to Megatron. Though, I suppose I still am to stay on his good side for a while. But time to talk with Dreadwing. 

"Lord Megatron, I live to serve," Dreadwing said kneeling before him

"Rise, Dreadwing," Megatron said as Dreadwing got up, "Loyalty such as yours is a rare commodity."

"Mine runs deep and true, yet it is not loyalty alone that brought me here."

"Oh?" 

"I seek confirmation of the demise of one whom I considered a brother." 

"How did you learn of his passing?" 

"My twin and I shared a split Spark. We're metal, but two halves of the same life force. Even across the galaxy, I sensed when he emerged from stasis on this planet and when his Spark was no more."

That must've been hard on him. I showed them the events of that fateful day.

"It is true. Skyquake perished at the hands of the Autobots, though not, in fact, under my watch," Megatron said as the video stopped at Starscream

"Then by the pit, every last Autobot on this accursed world will pay," Dreadwing said

"The Autobots will be punished for their crime, and many others, how and when I see fit."

"But master-"

"Conflicting agendas will only result in chaos and failure. You would be wise to remember that, Dreadwing. You are under my command now, and as such, you must follow my lead."

That lasted five minutes. Megatron called him asking where he was. He was trying to kill Optimus for murdering Skyquake. Megatron knew that Dreadwaing would fail because, well, it's Optimus Prime. Megatron just allowed it to happen in memory of Skyquake but only this once. He ended the call and turned to (Y/N) and me.

"I will be quite surprised if we ever set eyes upon Dreadwing again," Megatron said to us.

Isn't that the truth?  But Dreadwing did come back but Optimus still lived. Dreadwing then pledged full loyalty to Megatron. But then things got interesting after that. I had taken over decoding the rest of the Iacon Database and Airachnid said that she wanted to use something to help collect the relics when I find their locations. She believed her tracking skills would help. Megatron noted that and Airachnid left.

Megatron asked me to remind him of Airachnid's trustworthiness. I played the audio of what she said during the time Unicron was a problem. So, Megatron asked Dreadwing and Breakdown to take Airachnid somewhere to terminate her. But only one came back and that was Dreadwing. He told us that Airachnid had escaped and Breakdown had gone missing. We can't find his signal either so that can only mean one thing. He's been killed. But we quickly heard from Airachnid.

'Heard from Breakdown lately?' Airachnid asked

"Trace the communication," Megatron told me

On it.

'Megatron, truly. You sent simple henchmen to terminate a high-ranking officer. I thought you reserved that honor for yourself,' Airachnid said

"Is that a challenge?" Megatron asked

'An invitation. And since Soundwave is, no doubt, tracing this signal, you know where to find me.'

And she ended the call. I did find her location and displayed it on the screen.

"I'll be back," Megatron said making his way out.

"Allow me to accompany you," Dreadwing said

"You already had your chance."

And he's gone. Can I take this opportunity to take (Y/N) away for a few hours? Worth the risk. As we have been growing closer in recent months, (Y/N) has shown me all kinds of animals to the point that I've done research on them all. I even found somewhere to take her for a while. I motioned her to follow me and we snuck off the Warship. I took her to some stables where we could go horseback riding.

She always said she wanted to do that so I'm helping out. I activated my holoform and took her in. I had already used a human's credit card details to pay for it. They shouldn't notice because they're very rich. Of course, I had it booked under a name I made up. I took (Y/N) to the horses where she instantly got excited. I took a black horse with white at the hoves while (Y/N) took a light brown horse. I thought she'd take a white one but I suppose not.

We were shown how to ride them by an instructor before going off on our own. It was a free roam kind of thing too so we could go anywhere in the area. (Y/N) was quick to challenge me to a race which I gladly took. We raced from the stables to the beach nearby. I won that race but (Y/N) was a good sport. After that, we had fun just riding around the area and spending some time together.

Because her horse was looking a little exhausted, we took them back, and (Y/N) joined me on the back of mine. I swear I tensed a little when she put her hands on my waist to keep her from falling. My heart also picked up a pace and there was a strange feeling inside me. I've never felt this before even when I had emotions back on Cybertron.

I ignored it and continued to have a fun time with (Y/N). We may or may not have stayed away from the Warship for a few days and, the day we came back, we almost wished we didn't. Airachnid had gained a following of a whole hive of Instecticons which joined our side. And almost immediately after they joined us, the Warship started to crash land. I wish I could say things got better after that.
