A silent Love (Soundwave X Reader)

Chapter Twenty-One: The big question

I've been getting along with Jack, Raf, and Miko quite well since I joined the Autobots. They don't seem to mind me anymore. I was a bit scary to them at first until they started to get comfortable around me. I had also recently helped Ratchet find whatever was left of the Decepticon mines and took them for ourselves. I only did that due to the shortage at the base. Unfortunately, I've not really opened up to them.

I'm still the silent communications chief to everyone. I just can't bring myself to talk to everyone or show what face I have under my visor. But I might be ready to let (Y/N) hear my voice. But I keep deciding not to because of a feeling that I keep experiencing around her. It's kind of the same as the feeling I felt on that day we went horseback riding.

I've never felt this feeling even back when I had emotions. I just don't understand what's going on. Hating the unknown feeling, I finally went to Ratchet about it. I managed to explain what was happening and he gave me a check-up almost confused about it too. He scanned me and had a look at the results.

"Apart from any old injuries you've sustained, you're completely fine," Ratchet said

I tilted my head to show I was confused.

"I don't know what you're feeling but, if it's an emotion you haven't felt, then I would suggest asking our human friends. They would know more about it than me," Ratchet said.

I gave a nod. I went over to the humans and explained what was happening in hopes that they would know. (Y/N) wasn't with them because she was out doing... something. I don't know where she's gone. That habit hasn't stopped yet.

"Soundwave, what you're feeling is 'Love'," Jack said.

Another confused head tilt.

"Love is when you have strong feelings for someone. Like a crush or maybe you're falling for a friend. You can't stop thinking about them and, when you are around them, you get nervous. The fuzzy feeling you feel when you're around (Y/N)," Jack explained

"To make it simpler, you have a crush on her, dude!" Miko said

"Yeah. You should tell her how you feel," Raf said

"Uh, Raf. He can't speak," Jack said.

I'm starting to understand what they're saying anyway. I love her like most Cybertronion's with their Sparkmates. I've never had one because of what I did back on Cybertron and the fact I took a vow of silence. 

"But doesn't Soundwave sometimes use voice recordings?" Raf asked pulling me out of my thoughts.

I nodded to answer his question. 

"Then we'll find a love song that says 'I love you' and set up a date for them," Miko said

I activated my holoform to give them the hint that I wanted to confess like this. They said they'd figure out the confession later but they'll help me set up a date. Because none of them had ever been in a relationship, we looked on the internet for ideas. I wanted something outdoors since we're both obsessed with it. We looked through the options only to be disappointed that we've already done most of what was suggested.

But one thing caught my interest. A day at the beach. The kids did say that, if I was going to take (Y/N) to the beach, we both had a swimming costume if we planned to go in the water. I didn't know what that was so they would handle that part. We then had a look for beaches that would be perfect and also abandoned at a certain time so people wouldn't get scared when a Groundbridge suddenly appears. Raf showed me a place called Shipwreck Beach.

It's a popular beach and the only way to get there is by boat since the beach is surrounded by cliffs. It should be abandoned at sunset so tourists won't be there. I thought it was perfect. So, we started preparing a little picnic for the two of us, Agent Fowler helped with the swimming costume part, and now I just needed a (Y/N). Wherever she's disappeared to for the hundredth time. She came back after a few hours.

Before she could disappear somewhere again, I showed her the beach and the humans said I wanted to take her there. She seemed happy with the idea. So, I took her there when it was around sunset to see no one there. Good. I timed it right. I set up our picnic and (Y/N) found her swimming costume. She easily got the message and went behind the shipwreck in the middle of the beach to change. I did the same thing.

And it's now I first see how ft my holoform was. Well, I was a gladiator once next to Megatron so that would explain it. But I haven't really done any fighting since Cybertron went dark so I was still just thin with mussels. I finished setting up the picnic when (Y/N) came back. She looked beautiful. I tried not to stare and pointed to the ocean to ask if she wanted to go for a swim. She said yes and we went into the water.

I stayed with her mostly and had a casual swim until it became a water fight because she pretended to be in trouble and splashed me. After that chaotic battle, we went to the shore and had our food. And this would be my first time trying human food. I had a try of one of the foods given to me and fell in love with it. (Y/N) would then talk about her day since I still chose to be quiet. She had gone back to the forest I found her in and helped an animal deliver a child. I think she said it was a deer. But I started to drift off from the conversation because I had something on my mind. (Y/N) seemed to notice.

"Is something the matter?" (Y/N) asked

I looked up at her. I took a deep breath and tried to find the courage to do the thing I've never done for years.

"I-I have something to confess," I said after struggling to get the words out.

(Y/N) just went quiet, shocked that I spoke. Yes, she had already heard it back when I saved her from that security guard but she just said to me that she thought I used a different voice like I usually do. 

"What is it?" (Y/N) asked after getting over her shock.

"I love you," I said rather quickly and looked at the horizon. 

Out of the corner of my eye, I watched (Y/N) get closer to me and kiss my cheek. I looked at her to see her smiling at me.

"I love you too. And I love your voice. I'm happy you found the courage to speak," (Y/N) said smiling

I smiled and gave her an actual kiss. Well, tried to. She kissed back being just as experience as I was. As in, not at all. But we got the hang of it. We started dating after that day and I've never been happier.
