Noah's POV
The cafe was nearly silent as we sat directly across from each other in the booth. We had just gotten in the door with enough time to order the Bahama blue blast as I'd promised after the fireworks show.
Throughout the whole ride Zee's hand laced with mine as we drove in warm tranquility. No jokes or stories this time as quietness was enough with her. A rush ran through my body every time she'd brush her thumb against my knuckle. Her touch always sent me elsewhere and I longed to tell her she too tempting for her own good but I didn't trust my self control.
Don't scare her away, hot shot my subconscious sneered.
When we arrived she reached over to kiss my cheek lazily before bolting to the cafe door.
Fuck I hissed internally, grumbling about not being able to get a real kiss like the ones earlier. I'd never liked the whole PDA thing with Nicola, but Zee was something else that was incomparable next to my ex.
A force of nature that no one could possibly be blind to.
I was more drawn to Zee than anyone in my world and wanted more than anything to really bring her into it. To tell her the truth so she had the full picture before possibly choosing to run away.
No!
Shaking off the thought I looked back up to those endearing brown orbs already locked into mine. Every self-loathing thought disappeared was soon as she drunk me in.
Before I fully knew what I was doing I pulled Zee up from the booth and lead her to the dance floor. There were only a few others scattered around which meant plenty of space for us and what I wanted to do with her.
"What are you doing? I can't dance!" she giggled as her arms found their way around my neck. For someone that couldn't dance she must've trusted me enough to try as she pulled me even closer. Smirking at my win, I lowered my mouth to her bejeweled ear and deepened my tone.
"You can when you're with me."
The music slowed to a hypnotic lull as we swayed along the floor. The angel in my arms had two left feet so I compensated by hitching one of them on my hip. Its as she allowed me to lead- then the bass in the song dropped. She gasped and I gave her no time to fall as I dipped her and proceeded to a full lift off the floor.
She then yelped as I readjusted her thigh on my waist - just to make sure she wouldn't come crashing down as I had my way with her. By this time I was fully aware that everyone else had migrated off the dance floor and I truly had her all to myself.
I hoped the cook had forgotten about ringing up those godforsaken Bahama blue blasts now. "Zahra. I think we ran everyone off the floor." I whisper laughed unabashedly as she pressed her head into the crook of my bicep. "We should stop, this is a public establishment." she murmured as she looked around the space.
The last thing I wanted to do was make her uncomfortable so I unwrapped her tiny body from around mine to then place her firmly on her toes. Zee took one step closer to me and stood on her tiptoes as she puckered her lips. Easily giving in, I leaned down and expected to melt into her but instead my dominant arm was lurched off towards the pick up window.
Sneaky thing. I'll remember that.
Two 20 ounce striking blue drinks were perched with our order number and I audibly groaned. Zee grabbed the drinks as I tipped the jar.
