Jimin hardly slept all night. The next morning he jumped from his bed at the first alarm, hurriedly got ready and rushed to Taehyung’s apartment. They usually had breakfast together when Jimin didn't stay the night at Jungkook’s. Taehyung usually had a somber mood on days when Jimin was at Jungkook’s and missed their breakfast. Jimin had realised it early and often would leave early from Jungkook’s place to still have breakfast with Taehyung, it was worth it because Taehyung would smile at him and ruffle his hair when he would do that, remarking how silly he is. But today, he didn’t know if he could enter Taehyung’s apartment just like that. He had the key, but he chose to ring the bell. Taehyung opened the door and on finding Jimin standing there left the door open and went back inside. Jimin stepped inside gingerly and saw hot tea and a toast on along with Taehyung’s laptop on the dining table. He sat down at his regular seat and picked up a fruit to nibble silently at it. Taehyung came back to the room and sighed when he looked at him.

"Jimin-ah, are you okay?" The question was valid, Jimin had puffy eyes and had not styled his hair like everyday. He looked like he had a fever. Jimin looked up at Taehyung with his pleading eyes.

"Tae, are you really leaving next month?"

"Hmm" Taehyung sat down next to him picking up his tea. They always sat close, Jimin would often cling to him while discussing stuff. They enjoyed their skinship. Jimin felt so down today but he couldn't bring himself to cling on to his best friend like always.

"Please tell me this is a joke. I don't want you to go Taetae"

"Min, we talked about this. I told you I am on notice. I have also accepted the offer from Seojoon hyung. Furthermore you saw I was copying documents from our company repository, Jimin-ah. I've already made up my mind, I no longer feel obligated to be loyal to my company, I do not belong here."

"I don't care about that. We'll fix it, I'll help you fix it. You owe me this!"

"I.owe.you?"

"Yes you do! You didn’t tell me before deciding all this and I am calling in our soulmate card. Take it all back Taehyung-ah. Roll back."

"Wow Jimin, you really think everything revolves around you, don't you?"

"Even you didn't tell me before falling for Jungkook, did you? Can you roll back?"

"It's not a transaction, Taehyung! And I am not in love with Jungkook. We are just dating-"

"Yeah, yeah, dating and sleeping around, having fun. Well, fool someone else. You say that but your eyes speak differently. I know you love him and you know it and you didn't tell me when you found out."

"See? You knew and you didn't tell me."

"Let’s not talk about that Tae"

"And why not?"

"..."

"TELL me why can't we talk about this. WHY NOT, JIMIN?"

"Because YOU INSULTED ME!! I wanted to tell you every step of the way but you implied I had no character!"

"Jimin…"

"You said I would come running to you in a few days, like you were certain Jungkook would ultimately leave me"

"..."

"You said I do this every year like I am some kind of slut"

"Jimin!.. I never said it like that! And I thoroughly apologized! And you accepted my apology, for god sakes! And after that I urged you to continue sharing everything with me like we always do. I had a moment of weakness and I said some bad words but I apologized dammit! And you agreed and forgave me but clearly you didn't! You lied to me. I thought you agreed when I asked you to ignore my sudden outbreak and continue sharing with me but clearly you hid stuff from me. You lied and we never lie, Jimin!"

"You are great with words Taehyung-ah, I can never win against you. You judge me and you still expect me to come to you without any reluctance? You doubt my choices and you know full well how your words affect my life decisions and you still hope to be my daily journal?"

"I am also human, Jimin-ah. You blame your every move on your impulsive nature and I have to comply, but I can't commit mistakes?"

"..."

"One strike and I'm out?"

"Tae, please."

"I will still ask the same question, Min. I would any day roll back for you but would you?"

"It is just your job, Tae, this is my life"

"Well, is Jungkook your life? Not yet. I can tell you haven't confessed. But he is really important to you, I know that. Same way, my life and my career are important to me. I have taken some steps which will surely have repercussions and me reversing back could ruin my life. Thus, it is for sure, about my life. You, not so much.'

"Are you seriously asking me if I can finish things with Jungkook for you?"

"No. I don't want you to do that. I am just saying it is nearly impossible for you to do that and the same way this is nearly impossible for me. Getting me?"

"No."

"Fine. Then I can't help you."

"Tae, please. Are you telling me that it's just because I didn't tell you I love Jungkook that you did all this? Do you expect me to believe this?"

"...It's complicated"

"Well, uncomplicate it. Tell me!"

"It doesn't matter anymore."

"It matters to me"

"DOES IT? Does it matter to you that I felt something for you, the same time you decided to pursue someone else? I felt betrayed Jimin-ah, when your fooling around turned into a life long relationship. You fell for someone else and didn't tell me. I had to figure it out on my own and I was late because I couldn’t save a single piece of my heart from being broken. You know why I'm mad at you that you didn't tell me about Jungkook? Well listen hard Jimin, you fell for Jungkook the same time I fell for you, happy huh? Does it change anything, Jimin-ah?"

"Tae! What.. ? What are you saying?"

"I love you Jimin"
