Forever Young

“That piece of shit!” Seokjin snapped, more to himself, frustrated.

Namjoon glanced at him from his screen, they were both done discussing the minutes of meeting with one of their clients, gathering notes and next steps and were just done when Seokjin had sighed and snapped.

“Who is?” Seokjin was still frowning so Namjoon sighed and questioned.

“Who else? Kim Taehyung..”

“Hyung! For the 100th time, would you let it go? It is handled.” 

Namjoon tried to lighten Seokjin’s mood but both of them were aware that this was serious. The recent meeting revealed that their rival organisation had tried to one up them with a better approach to their long time clients but Taehyung had mysteriously updated their own documents overnight, presenting a much better solution option. Fortunately as risk taking as Jungkook is, he immediately approved the approach but had he not, they would have lost the contract of one of their biggest and long time clients. It was clear as day that Taehyung had messed up confidentiality policy and shared some critical information with his future organisation.

Seokjin shouted.

“HANDLED? You call this handled? You and Jungkook have gone berserk! Would you say the same thing if it was someone else? Would Jungkook let this go if it weren’t his boyfriend’s best friend?”

Namjoon had no words to say. They did let it go for the said personal reasons. Taehyung was their friend. He wanted to but he couldn’t bring himself to hate their friend for a selfish thing he did but fixed. One look at Jungkook in the meeting and they both silently communicated that they were gonna let this go. But as his position dictated, Seokjin was right.

“You need to terminate his employment.” Seokjin stated, assuming Namjoon’s silence as an agreement.

“But he’s already leaving, hyung!”

“On account of his own resignation. You need to fire his ass for this. And you should be lucky I’m not suing him for this!”

“It is my decision.”

“Do I need to remind you how we work, Joon?”

Namjoon realised he cannot win this normally.

“Can we let this go, hyung? Please..? For me?”

Seokjin huffed. They had recently come closer through their group outings. Who’d have thought Seokjin would feel something for his own CEO.

“This is not just your decision, Namjoon. This was wrong. You and Jungkook remained silent, this is not your clubhouse where you guys can make decisions irrationally..”

“...” Namjoon remained quiet.

“Fine, we’ll let it go. But I’m not signing a letter of recommendation. Taehyung can go take it from you or his new best friend.”

“Okay. Thanks for letting this go.” Namjoon smiled but he knew this was far from over.

Several days passed and after a few meetings and heated arguments, Taehyung was asked to leave early by the company. In reality Namjoon and others were worried that Taehyung’s mishap would come out and it would create a mess and endanger his career so it was better to relieve the young employee sooner.

Jimin was lost in helping Taehyung pack the stuff from his desk and drawers, he didn’t realise how these past days went by. Taehyung was leaving in two days. For the past few days, Jimin had tried to keep it the usual. Visit his best friend for breakfast everyday, spend some nights at Jungkook’s and some at Taehyung’s because he wanted to make the most of his time with his best friend. He felt like he was losing everything.
