Chapter 14

   The whole night we just chatted and I asks him more questions about the other side, and just him in general. "So do you have any other powers?", I ask as we both move and we're now on the grass field, laying next to each other and enjoying the night sky. "Well I can freeze water and do some other random stuff.", He answers blatantly. "That's so cool! You're like a supreme magical creature!", I said as I raise my hand as if I'm trying to reach the sky. "Why thank you.", Joy said smiling. "Don't you want to bring your siblings to talk to this supreme magical creature?", He asks confidently, "We have a summer camp tomorrow and I'm supposed to be sleeping, but I can't sleep. A really bad habit, but I don't want to wake them.", I explained.

   "Oh.", He said before a pause come. "Joy...", I started, "Yes?", he asks back. "Have you ever thought of going back home? To you family and the other side?", I ask now looking in his direction as my arms fall resting on the cold grass. "Well I do miss home, but war lasts for months even years! And I ran quite far from the broken walls.", He answered, "Why don't you just go back? What can you eat from this dead place except for for-", I cut myself out as I realise something. "Did you eat our carrots?!", I asked trying to control my anger.

   Joy just giggled innocently beside me while I looked at him in disbelieve. "Joy!", I said shoving his side. "What?! What other things can I eat!", He said as he continues to laugh about it. "My Mother was so confused!", I said before started laughing with him, he was right it was quite hilarious for no reason at all. There was a good long laugh before I say, "If you wanted some carrots I can farm some just for you, maybe it could be my summer camp project!", I said feeling proud of that idea. "What's the summer camp project?", He asks confused by the new subject.

   "Every summer camp, we will go hiking to that big mountain right there", I explained as I point at the mountain that was on our left, "and then we'll have marshmallows which are these sweets as our price for doing so, its good for some exercising, and those marshmallows taste the best after we've warmed it with the fireplace.", I continue. "After that, we have a project to do, such as making our ideas to life! It could be anything out of our creativity, writing a book, making a science fair, etc etc.", Joy seemed to nod in understanding. "And then on the third day, we just went fishing. We found this huge lake while hiking a few years back and decided to add that to our third day.", I explain once again to him.

   We continue chatting for the whole night, well almost. As the night was now almost morning I got quite tired and yawn. "You should go to sleep Abby, you have to hike that big mountain!", Joy said as he did the same thing I did -he points to the big mountain-. I smiled and replied with a small okay. "C'mon you can fly with me", he said as he's now completely stood up and followed up to him soon after. I nod and climb up to him and he started flying, "Let's have fun for a little okay?", he asks and before I could even answer he already added speed to his flying.

   We flew through the night sky that made me completely awake. I could touch the clouds and it felt as if it is out of the novel, the magic was surreal. We flew across the moon and I can see it so clearly, the round shape of it, every different shade it have, I could see every detail of the same moon I've been awaked with the whole night. He slow down and stopped in front of my window. I climb in it and wish him a good night, "Good night Joy, it was nice talking to you tonight.", I said.

   "Good night Abigail, it was nice talking to a human every once in a while. I guess the lonely deer isn't so lonely anymore, huh?", He asks before smiling warmly. I gave him the same smile before he flew away into the forest, disappearing into the night. I sigh as I close the window and walked over to my bed, I climbed my bed and cover myself with a blanket I close my eyes as sleep cave in my body. I can't wait for the future this friendship holds I thought one last time before sleeping, recharging myself for a big day tomorrow.

   I woke up that morning feeling tired and sleep-deprived from staying up most of the night talking to Joy, but I have to wake up to a new day. The first day of summer camp awaits for every child -and Petra- in this room. "Good morning kids! It's summer camp day!", Uncle Reuben barge in our room at 6 in the morning. Everyone was groaning, probably still tired -you can imagine how I must've felt- but Uncle Reuben was still persistent to wake up us, that's the exact reason why he was the one on duty waking us. "Wake up! C'mon think about the fresh air we'll get and the marshmallows we'll eat at the end of the day!", He said trying to bribe us into leaving our sheets, and it was working.

   "Marshmellow!", Michael said as soon as he heard the word and start getting off his bed to change into a more fitting outfit for the event. Soon one by one everyone left their sheets and I was the last one to leave. We all got ready and brought our breakfast, lunch, and water bottle inside our backpacks. We left around 06:30 a.m. and started our new adventure.
