Chapter 18

  It was now the final day of the summer camp, today we're going fishing, and as the winning team from the second day don't have to fish we came along to swim and ride a boat in the lake. The rail from the forest to the lake is a different one from the rail from the forest to the mountain, the reason we found this is from the top of the mountain once upon a summer camp the adults had when they were kids. So the place holds lots of good memories for their and my generation.

   We walked through the forest once again and reached our destination, there was a boat that was parked on the side of the lake and a spot to go fishing. Father was using this fish hat Uncle Samuel had given him as a joke, but he ended up using it every time they went fishing. "Alright kids, have fun and don't push each other alright?", Father announce before the three men -Uncle Samuel, Uncle Reuben, and Petra- cannonballed into the lake. "WOHO!", They both screamed as both their head was now over the water Father could only sigh at the sight and set up his fishing equipment.

   "Boys let go fishing with me! We have to at least find one fish to eat for dinner!", Father said excitedly while the boys groaned. While me, Sharen, and Ruth had already taken the boat and started sailing around the lake. "Don't get too far girls!", Father said as he throws his fishing rod waiting patiently. "Of course Father!", I said but did I listen? Well not really. I lead the boat quite far away so that the males can't hear us.

   "Alright I have something to say!", I told them excitedly and they seemed to turn their attention from the view to me as I said so. "What is it?", Ruth asks curiously. "I meet Joy again the night before our first day of summer camp.", I told them as if it's a small deal which for me is. "What?! Why didn't you tell me? Even more, wake me?!", Ruth said staring at me in disbelieve that she just lost her chance to talk to Joy. "Well, first of all, it was like 2 in the morning and we have hiking to do the next day and I don't want you to think about it during the summer camp so I decided to tell you today!", I said defensively.

   Sharen seemed to take the information well and was more curious about what we did as she ask, "What did you talk about with him?" I explain to them in detail what we did and every question that I had asked him and his answers which seemed to make Ruth happy enough and forgot the fact that she missed a chance of meeting this magical creature. Without noticing a head popped out of the water right now to our boat and this made the three of us jump out of shock. "What is that?!", Ruth said as she stand up making the boat lose balance. I stand up as well trying to balance the boat out and it seemed to work.

   I let out a sigh of relief and looked in the direction of the head, "What's up creep?", I asked the head below me. The head came out and give us a laugh, it was Petra. "Hey, I swim all the way here to you guys. Show some respect." Petra said half-jokingly as he went to the ground that's near the boat and climb into the boat making sure it won't lose its balance. "Sup.", He said after a long silence waiting for him to climb the boat. We all just laugh it off and start chatting once again, but we were then were surprised once again by a head popping out of the bushes next to us.

   "Oh my God you scared the living hell-", "Language!", Petra said before I could continue. I sigh as I got out of the boat and went to the deer who were hiding in the bushes. "Guys meet Joy.", I said and they seem confused as there is no creature in it. The bush was pretty tall so they probably can't see him cause he's slouching down trying to hide. I came next to him and he liked me, I wipe it off getting used to the physical contact. "Come on, meet my siblings and cousin.", I told Joy as I caressed his head.

   "Do I have to lick those kids?", He said seeming disgusted. "Oh just wait till you see the expression they'll have.", I said trying to hold my laughter in. "Abby you have been talking to yourself it is quite creepy!", Sharen said from the boat. "Alright I'm coming out just wait a minute!", I reply and brought Joy out with me. They seemed to gasp not expecting to see him this early, Ruth looked surprised yet excited, Sharen just gave Joy a welcoming smile, while Petra hold something in his eyes, hope.

   Joy came closer to them who were still shocked and lick all of them on the cheek. "Ew that is disgusting.", Sharen said as everyone wiped their cheek. "Ew!", Ruth said while Petra react a little bit late, "What? Why would you do that?", Petra asked Joy. "So you can speak to me dummy.", Joy answer bluntly tiredness in his voice. "Let's get this part over with please?", He asks sarcastically. "Wow, sassy much.", Petra replied as Joy seemed to glare at him. "You didn't tell me about this.", Ruth said as both of her and Sharen looked at me glaring. I just laugh awkwardly before introducing them one by one.

   Joy, meet my cousin Ruth, this is my older siblings, Sharen and Petra.", I said as I introduce them to each other. "Hello, nice meeting all of you. I have heard good things about every one of you.", Joy said now seeming to smile at them, his attitude changing completely and they smile back at him.
