Rain And More Rain On Ahch-To

As bright as Ahch-To's suns shone, its downpour pelted the land in relentless rain. Constantly. To Remii, it felt like living on a remote Vancouver island. If Remii had known just how rare clear skies were on the island she would've embraced them more. Though, it was rare that Remii experienced rain in the real world so truthfully, she loved it. Remii peeked her head out from inside her hut and tilted her chin to the skies, allowing the rain to pour down her face. Remii especially adored the rain because this was Star Wars rain. She liked to imagine fragments of the stars were embedded into the droplets. A drop of magic.

The unbeknownst task of the day however to all three of the pupils was that today would be spent in meditation. Miraculously, the clouds parted as the three balanced on their rocks, and the sun splashed a splinter of vibrant warmth across them. But as quickly as it arrived it was gone, once again pulled back through the clouds.

Remii and Fairy both knew what came with meditation on the rocks - the possibility that one of them would see the cave. The cave Rey had described as dark and cold, tucked away somewhere on the island. It deterred their focus before they began, looking into each other's eyes with slightly nervous determination. What they would find in that cave was a total mystery. They knew what Rey had seen...but what would they see?

The two grabbed each other's hands tightly as they focused, sealing their eyes from the world. Meditation had never been a strong suit, but Remii remembered what she'd done to focus in the real world. Truthfully, she'd pictured herself basking in the sun, laying down in the rolling hills of Ahch-To. It worked miraculously, but now that she was in her meditation spot, she wasn't sure of what to focus on. All she knew was that the current world around her was stirring. She heard voices - most likely Luke's and Fairy's - but they sounded far away now. Remii felt her forehead tense, and when she did she heard another voice, this one stronger and closer.

His.

"Focus, Remii," he whispered. It sounded as though he was sitting right in front of her. Remii gasped, her shoulders jolting as she flinched. She felt another hand on her, Luke's. He said something to her, but she couldn't hear it. She assumed he was checking on her and she nodded. As she refocused, Remii's urge to look at him was growing stronger. How was he doing this? "Don't open your eyes."

How are you here?

"Never mind that." He spoke softly but with intent. He was guiding her. And suddenly she felt his hand on her arm. Remii's skin sizzled at the feeling of his but she remained focused. Definitely not on meditation, though.

No, seriously, how are you doing this? You're not here, are you?

"No. Not physically. Now focus. Breathe in."

Remii nodded shortly, straightening her back as she took in a long inhale.

"And out."

Remii exhaled, quietly.

"What do you see?"

You.

Silence. She wanted to look, to see what he was thinking.

"What else?"

Remii fully focused now, and watched as a splash of colour brushed across her vision. Brilliant blues and yellows and oranges with odd shapes and morphing forms. Then sudden reds, harsh darkness, and more blues.

The future. I think.

Ben stayed silent, but his hand remained on her arm. That was until a distant voice reaffirmed itself, growing closer and louder. Luke's.

"Remii," he repeated, his voice tinged with slight irritation.

Remii flashed her eyes open, undeniably irritated that she didn't see Ben. Her shoulders dropped as she crawled back to reality, her hand still gripping Fairy's. Finn was the most confused of them all. He knew something was up, he just wasn't sure what it was. Remii had completely forgotten about the original focus until now. She turned to her Twi'lek friend who kept a firm grip.
