After their most recent encounter, Remii was finally able to turn her focus towards her training. She demonstrated great patience in her meditations, passion in her saber training and drive in her physical endurance exercises. This wasn't to say she suddenly gained the power of a professional athlete but she was trying. They all were. And Remii gladly welcomed Ben's interruptions. Though from time to time, she often wondered if he selected when their Forcetimes would connect. It almost seemed ironic at times. The first was during one of her first meditation lessons, another was when she was stuck with a bloated gut in the Falcon. It all seemed...suspiciously planned out.

Along with Remii's newfound focus she finally felt...hope. The hope that despite knowing what most likely awaited them all (including Ben) in the future, everything would be okay. Ben would be okay. Her friends would be okay. She would be okay. It reminded Remii of Rey's hope, her passion to guide Ben to the light side. Of course, that desire had always been there but for Remii, she was finally feeling hopeful that it could come true. She replayed Han's words in her head when she needed to redirect that drive - she pictured a flustered Ben Solo too.

In any way that she could, she would help.

Remii had contemplated whether she should remain true to the movie script or deviate from it. After all, she among millions had seen the finale to the film trilogy. Where Rey had seen shapes of the future, the entire Star Wars fandom had seen the future as clear as the present. The question was...would it persuade Ben? He had already begun to let his guard down, maybe it wouldn't hurt. Maybe her persistence would translate well to him. He'd see that she was telling the truth.

After she and the group ate yet another suspiciously-scented dinner that night around Chewie's bonfire, Remii and Fairy turned to one another at the sound of Fairy's communicator chiming. It was time.

"Alright," Remii announced, she and Fairy rising from their spots on the log. "We're gonna turn in. Got some communication meditation to practice."

Finn beamed at them, shooting a sympathetic wink. As sheepish as Remii felt fibbing to him, at least he'd fallen for it. Remii wagged her fingers at him and Chewie before escorting Fairy back up the hill.

Remii was patient. There was no telling when Ben would pop in today. She almost wondered if that was something she could encourage on her end. But despite Remii's patience, she did find it suspicious that even after she'd escorted Fairy to her hut and took a minute or two to keep watch, she still hadn't sensed Ben's presence. Was he coming at all? Truthfully, seeing Ben on the daily had become such an integral part of her routine that she couldn't imagine not seeing him for a day. Especially now that she felt as though they were finally making some progress.

And then, something new. Something strange. Remii felt the familiar buzz in the corner of her brain, signalling his arrival. But it was different somehow...softer, more alien. Remii gasped loudly when his voice broke through in her mind.

Remii, where are you?

Remii's wide eyes scanned the skies and then the area around her. Yup, that was in her head. He was in her head. She knew this had been possible in the movies with behind the scenes quotes she'd read online but she hadn't really believed it. Not until now.

I'm on my way, she whispered.

You don't have to whisper.

Okay.

Remii hurried up the slope, excitement pulling her feet along faster with every step. But when she reached her hut and swung the door open, he wasn't there. He as in Ben. Grogu was there, fast asleep, bless him. Confused, Remii turned away from the hut, glancing around as she mind-whispered,
