Rain was a constant on Ahch-To and when it arrived, it made its presence known. And much like the timeline of events Remii had expected, the rain arrived at random in sporadic patterns, never failing to surprise her. Her developments with Ben mimicked the rain. Remii was undeniably grateful for the time she'd been given with him but she still worried with how this was disrupting the timeline. Much like the rain, there was no way of knowing when the next downpour would come. 

When it did rain again it was loud, deafening even. Galactic rain must've sang a unique tune because more often than not it sounded like roaring engines. Remii fumbled through the rain back into her hut, lifting her dampened hood and Grogu's. They hadn't expected it when she'd initially set out on her evening hike and neither had he, despite how wise beyond his appearance the little green alien seemed. He shook his head as a cascade of tiny water droplets sprinkled about the room. Remii thought to do the same but didn't want a face full of damp hair. 

It had only been a day since Remii's last encounter with Ben and yet somehow it felt like it'd been days. Guess that's what the emotional taxing and melancholy that came with rain could do. Remii now waited for him with bated breath - admittedly, she was nervous for their next meeting. Which version of him would she be met with this time? Ben Solo, or Kylo Ren? Remii took to swaddling little Grogu, tucking him up into the bed with his favourite egg meal. At least if Grogu stayed on the island he'd be in meal heaven.

That was one of the many other unanswered mind-clouding inquiries swimming around in Remii's mind. When she and Fairy and Finn left the island, should Grogu go with them? Every time Remii asked Grogu what he wanted, he just looked up at her with his big soulless bug eyes. Maybe he wasn't sure either. It would be understandable with this distorted timeline. 

Once Grogu seemed to be asleep Remii paced back and fourth, nibbling at the skin around her nails. She'd been a dedicated skin-biter in the real world too, once even biting well past her knuckle. It had brought her distorted comfort at one point but luckily she'd finally dropped the habit a few years back. Mostly. Now, she felt as though skin-biting would help her calm down again. And yet it didn't. She felt guilty ruining these 'new hands' so instead she dug her nails into her palms - not to the point of physical distress but enough to occupy her mind elsewhere. Where was he? And what could she expect?

Finally, as if she'd manifested him, Remii's hut door swung open and in walked a rain-sprinkled Ben Solo. He looked occupied, out of breath. Was his mind swimming too? He seemed to ease some when he saw Remii standing there, looking just as wild-eyed as him - mirroring him. He let out a quick breath, straightening himself as he shut the door behind him, his eyes wandering around the room before settling on her. 

"Is he..."

Remii nodded, biting at her cheek now. "He's asleep."

Ben nodded too, blinking at the raindrops on his lashes, his plump lips parting as he struggled to stand still. If he wasn't going to explain, Remii was going to ask. 

"Are you okay?" Remii could feel the air catching in her chest, her entire body seizing with anticipation. She eased when he took a step towards her, swooping his cape around her shoulders. It was warm and...somehow smelt exactly like Remii's real world Kylo candle.

Ben parted his lips wider to respond but decided against it, instead coaching Remii over to the stools. "Sit," he mumbled. Remii obliged, her back sizzling at the touch of his hand. She watched as Ben took the seat in front of her, moving himself closer to her. She gripped his cape tightly, as if an extension of him. 

Ben took turns staring at Remii and then at her feet, his lips quivering with hesitation. It was causing Remii's heart to thump louder, tighter.

"Ben, you're making me nervous," she blurted, clenching her muscles as she waited. "What is it?"
