Chapter 8:

Anna POV:

“WHAT!” I exclaimed. That’s when it hit me, why he looked extremely familiar, it was the fact he looked so much like Jesse. But, I didn’t even know Jesse had an older brother. Wait, how would I know, I don’t even care? Right?

“You seem pretty shocked, what, your boyfriend never told you about me, huh?” Matthew smirked.

“Gross, you thought I’m his girlfriend as if?” I half-lied! Yes, it’s true I’m not his girlfriend but I definitely wouldn’t find the idea disgusting. I saw him stiffen and crease his eyebrows in thought.

“Your. Not. His. Girlfriend.” He spoke the separate words through clenched teeth. Wow, he’s angry I’m not his brother’s girlfriend; see if I didn’t know they hated each other I would have thought that he said that for his brother! That thought brought a very intelligent question to my mind.

“Why hate you do Jesse and each much so other?” WHAT! EVEN I DON’T KNOW WHAT I SAID. So much for intelligent! He gave me a very confused look that had a hint of amusement in it. That hit it off and I went scarlet red. I cleared my throat!

“Why do you and Jesse hate each other so much?” I smiled in relief that this time it came out correct. But apparently I was still blushing like crazy.

“Now, why would I tell you that?” a smile playing on his lips, but he put all his might to hide it. I sighed realizing that he had said the exact same thing when I asked him his name. He’s so secretive.

“Because I want-“I was cut off by Matthew who had burst out laughing at something I had, in fact, said funny. The thing is I didn’t catch the joke.

“You know, you rudely interrupted a very good speech on why I should know! I am very appalled!” I crossed my arms over my chest, not before stomping my feet on the ground like a 4 year old. He stopped his laughter and came over to me.

“You’re very cute when you do that?” he whispered, obviously referring to my childish behavior, I don’t know why, but I blushed like crazy! It suddenly hit me that Matthew was much better in the romance book than Jesse! I don’t know why I had kept my hopes high that Jesse might change from the obnoxious player he is, to a sweeter and… someone like Matthew.

Matthew snapped me out of my trance as he came closer to my lips…

He finally an inch away from my lips, I was just about to reach up and attach my lips to his…

When someone knocks on the door! Really, so cliché! And very annoying!

A guy came into the room and flashed a glance between me and Matthew, then I realized how close we were, we were about to kiss… I moved away, faster than lightning.

Matthews’s eyes turned raging!

“WHAT!” he shouted I actually saw the guy flinch.  

“Erm… He… erm… that guy… you hate is on his way here, to get… the girl!” he stuttered. I was shocked. This guy was like a sumo wrestler yet he’s scared of Matthew.

Matthew nodded,

“Let them in when they get here, I will not force Anna to stay here, she has a choice!” the guy nodded and left. I was in total aw!
