Chapter 7:

Anna POV:

He leaned in closer, his lips puckered and eyes closed. I was so tempted to pull him towards myself and kiss him crazy, but my conscience knew better. Before, anything hasty happened, I pushed Jesse as hard as I could, he slapped against the closet, rattling it. We heard laughter coming from outside, oh shit, they thought…

“Why did you do that?” he was obviously annoyed I got him all excited.

“I never said I was going to kiss you, and we still haven’t sorted out something!” he rolled his eyes and gestured for me to continue with the ‘sort something out’.

“Why the hell did you pay for the trip for me, when I specifically said I didn’t want your help.” I fumed, if anyone finds out about this, I’d be the laughing stock.

“Well technically, I didn’t pay, your parents did, I just gave them the money!” I stared at him shocked, my mum and dad actually took the money.

“Well… what did you say to them…? I mean… you… know!” I stuttered. He chuckled, and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. Wait, why was he nervous?

“What did you do?” I used my stern voice. He started shifting under my stare.

“I may have said that I was your boyfriend and your partner and I were happy to help because you already gave your consent,” his voice got quieter by time he reached the end of the sentence, he was mumbling. BUT I STILL HEARD HIM!

“WHAT?” I screamed. How dare he? What would they think of me? I’ve trusted a guy so much that I didn’t tell them about him, and borrowed money? Oh good lord, kill me now!

“I can’t believe you’d do something like that, I don’t even know what my parents are thinking? How dare you dare you, try and do something without telling me, especially since I am very vitally important at this moment! You know, if this is you being a good ‘husband’ I don’t even want to know what you’re like when you’re an excellent one. God, you… I can’t explain how angry I am. I HATE YOU; I HATE YOU SO MUCH, WITH EMENCE PASSION! You’ve just totally ruined my life!” I shouted at him. I hadn’t realized the closet door was fully open and that everyone was staring at my outburst. I ran out of the closet, towards the door but still saw the smirk that lay on Jessica’s face. UGH!

I didn’t look back after that, I just ran! I don’t know where, why and how. All I knew was I had to get away from Jesse as fast as possible. I ran and ran! My breathing quickened, telling me I was running out of breath. I stopped running and started breathing in gulps of oxygen. I put my hands on my knees. Once I got my breath back, I looked at my surroundings. I was in a forest type of thing. It was dark and scary. The trees rustled violently and I stood still as a rock. I don’t know how the hell I was going to get back? I don’t even think I’m ever going to be going back to Jesse ever again? God knows what’s lurking in this forest ready to pounce and kill me!

I pushed my confidence higher and I stepped closer into the forest. I figured if I just kept going forwards it’d reach the end and then I’d finally be able to reach the hotel. No doubt, they’ve all come out to look for me. 

I kept on walking, getting further and further into the darkness. Something moved behind me and I quickly turned to face… nothing. Nothing but darkness!

Suddenly pain surged through y head. I turned around to find a man, in a black mask, with a big block of wood. I stared at the guy as a warm liquid made its way down my head. I touched it and looked at my hand, BLOOD! NOT JUST ANY BLOO THOUGH, MY BLOOD. I felt like I was going to be sick any minute. Instead, all I got was more pain. The guy wacked the wood onto my head one last time and I fell to the ground. As the blackness was taking me, the guy took off his mask. Although I hadn’t met him, he looked oddly familiar. VERY FAMILIAR! But, my head throbbed with pain, so I couldn’t register who he was. I finally gave up as I slowly drifted into a deep sleep, with just one thought…
