The Fears of a Madman

Chapter 8

Luke sent Kelli to pack for him and she scampered away. He had already set all his things out in a panicked haze after the dream/nightmare/vision he had experienced the night before.

Luke felt his stomach turn as his brain repeated Kronos's words over. He felt cold and shaky... Luke was terrified. He didn't want to do this. He never wanted to do this. He hadn't meant for it to get this far. He had never intended to let it.

Stop. Thinking. Like. That. You're in more danger the more you think like that.

Luke exhaled out of his nose.

When a hand grabbed his shoulder Luke nearly jumped out of his skin.

"Well are we leaving?" Ethan chirped looking up at Luke.

Luke stared at him in silence for a second, Ethan simply blinking. It felt like it had been hours before Luke broke the stare- he wasn't sure what had just happened but he supposed there wasn't anything he could change about it. It was the past after all, and the past could never change.

"Yes. As soon as Kelli-"

"Here Lukey- sorry that took longer than I meant for it to..." Kelli said sheepishly, batting her eyelashes at Luke.

He waved her away and Kelli dropped the bag at his feet and left.

"Kai- tell the helmsman to bring us to shore so Ethan and I can leave."

"Sure thing Lukey," Kai cackled as she ran off. Luke rolled his eyes and heard a chuckle next to him. He glanced to the side and it was Ethan- obviously, why wouldn't it be?

"What are you laughing at Nakamura?"

Ethan shrugged, a sort of shine in his eye. Luke's heart melted a bit and so he looked away. He had a feeling he knew what this feeling was and it was so incredibly strange that it had grown so quickly- he barely knew Ethan.

It's a weakness. Destroy it.

Luke shrugged the thoughts away. Soon, very soon, too soon, his thoughts would no longer be his own. Maybe they already weren't.

Yes they are. Stop with that, Kronos wouldn't lie to you.

Would he?

"Aha there's the shore! Let's go then?" Ethan exclaimed.

Luke stared for just a moment before nodding and grabbing his bag. Mother... here I come.

He sighed deeply as he followed Ethan out.

Mom... I'm scared.

HAHAHAHA THAT WAS SO BAD BUT I UPDATED OMGS IT ONLY TOOK A MILLION YEARS!!! Seriously if you read this thank you so much, I'm so sorry I haven't been updating a lot. I kinda fell out of my PJO obsession but I will try my best to finish this guys, I kind of like the concept I came up with for it.

Anyways it probably will have more than ten chapter lol but I don't know how many exactly... probably not a lot.
