"Luke!" Kelli's voice rang through Luke's mind, snapping him to attention.

Was I out here all night? Luke thought worriedly. Oh gods. That's gonna be great when I have to spar with Nakamura later.

"Yes?" Luke asked, turning to face the Empousa.

"Lord Kronos wishes to know how your progress is going on his plan. Have you spoken to your mother yet?"

Luke felt a shiver jolt down his spine. He had to get his mother's permission- he had nearly forgotten.

"I'll do it soon." He said, trying to act as though it mattered little to him. As he turned back to look out at the sea, he felt eyes burning into the back of his neck.

Ethan. Of course. I should have expected it.

"Nakamura. Is there something you wish to tell me, or are you simply going to stare at me all day?" Luke asked the boy in question.

"Sorry it's just- you don't seem too keen to speak to your mother about whatever this plan is." Ethan said simply, shrugging and coming to stand next to Luke. "I'm trying to figure out why."

Luke stiffened. "It's really none of your business, is it Nakamura?"

Ethan shrugged. "I suppose. I've always had a bad habit of sticking my nose where it doesn't belong though. Why should I stop now?"

"I suggest you do stop. For your own personal safety." Luke growled.

Good Luke. Tell him to back off. Get him off your back. Now.

"Or perhaps I may have to force you."

Ethan laughed, startling Luke.

What in Hades???

"Good try Castellan. Keep trying to scare me away, it's very entertaining." Ethan said, laughing and walking back to the training grounds. "And now I do believe we're supposed to train, are we not?"

"Yes." Luke growled, anger boiling inside of him. Why wasn't this guy scared? Luke intimidated everyone, even Kelli sometimes- how was Ethan different?

The fight began slowly, both boys warming up to their opponents methods. It was as though they were hesitant to hurt each other, but in reality, they were just trying to figure out the best way to go about doing just that.

In a matter of seconds the fight was a mess of blows, grunts, missed hits, and hisses of pain from landed blows. Again, neither boy could get much of an advantage- that is until Ethan jumped behind Luke and pulled a knife, the point pressing into the blonde's back.

"Ah, it seems I've won." Ethan said smugly.

Not yet. A voice hissed in Luke's head. Do it.

Luke couldn't do it well enough. He was going to end up flat on his face... but he had to do something. He wasn't going to lose, not now, not ever.

Luke flipped himself around, propelling himself forward with his legs. He wrapped his hand around Ethan's wrist, redirecting the knife's point away from himself. Then he pulled back, using Ethan to slow himself down and stop the black haired boy from doing anything unexpected as well.

It worked, but both boys ended up on the floor because Luke tripped over his own foot when pulling Ethan back.

"What in Hades was that?" Ethan asked, gazing over at Luke with wide eyes.

"That, my friend, was me winning." Luke answered, smirking.
