Yamada was...confused. Upset, yes, concerned, of course, impressed, when it comes to the green bean, always. And yet, part of him was unsatisfied. He had no idea what he'd been expecting, but he'd long since noticed the way Midoriya first acted around others.
The flinching, tucking in on himself, never making any unnecessary noise, and staying far away from teachers. At first, he thought that it was just him, which made him sad, but he wouldn't have been the first student to be overwhelmed by his loud hero persona.
However, when he tried being quieter around the skittish boy, it didn't seem to make a difference. His conclusion that it had to be something else was only proven when he saw the little listener acting the same way around the other teachers too. And not just the teachers, all adults. A talk with his husband later that night confirmed that he wasn't the only one to have noticed it.
He supposed he'd hoped for some sort of actual explanation. Something to tell him why. Based off of what he'd found out so far, he could assume it was because of past teachers. Yet, the listener had yet to mention any major trauma with the teachers besides neglect or bias, which granted was still pretty bad.
And that was another thing. This was therapy. It was not meant to be shared. It was safe to say that he was not pleased with this, despite the green bean claiming that it was alright. He was about to turn to his husband and ask his opinion about this whole thing when it started up again.
Dear Notebook, so, I reread what I wrote yesterday. To be fair, I really needed that rant.
Many of the people in the room let out small laughs, they could tell.
But I kinda got distracted from the actual topic at hand. Yes, I understand that it still counts, but I feel the need to go over the actual day.
Hizashi let a small smile grace his lips, looked like he'd find out anyway.
The first day of UA was...stressful. My first obstacle was the absolutely, ridiculously huge door in front of the classroom.
"THANK YOU!" Midnight yelled.
Okay, I kinda get it. Maybe it needs to be big for students with certain mutations, or maybe they want to represent the same importance of what we're walking into.
But I don't like it.
"Damn, that's the first time I've ever heard anyone try to put a reason behind it since you did in our first year Sho." Hizashi chuckled. Shota just let out a hum of acknowledgement, not taking his eyes off the screen.
Having said that, it wasn't helpful that I walked in to see Kachan. Gotta hand it to Iida though, he's pretty brave for telling my childhood friend off for disrespecting school property. Which, understandable, but a lost cause.
"Actually, I just really hated his attitude, it's unbecoming of a hero student. And flat out annoying to everyone who worked so hard to get into the school." Iida corrected with a frown.
Most of the class were looking at him with their jaws practically on the ground while Bakugo started yelling curses at the speed quirk student. Couldn't blame them though, it was certainly the first time they'd seen him act differently than 'rule following golden boy'. The teachers on the other hand, well, Hizashi and Aizawa that is, were not surprised. Neither was the "Dekusquad".
Of course, now that I know the real reason for that, I can understand why he and I get along so well. Although I might be a bit of a bad influence.
"...As much as I wanna believe he's an innocent cinnamon roll, I understand how that might not be the case." Mirko sighed.
The next big thing was meeting my homeroom teacher. Now, here is the thing, I don't trust teachers. I certainly don't trust adults, but teachers are at a whole new level. At first, I didn't want to be looked at, talked to, or even be in the presence of teachers ever again. Of course, that's unrealistic, but it's still true.
