I twist up my nose and hold my breath as the nurse prods at Hex's chest. She's older with thinning, long grey hair but it doesn't stop the gawking and the over the top touchiness she's doing to Hex.
The scowl on his face shows his lack of enthusiasm to be here. He had tried to take the stitches out himself but once I saw how intricate the stitches were I stopped him and now we're at Silverwood hospital.
It was a battle to get him here but once he saw how upset it was making me he gave in.
"Are they ready to come out?" I ask as I peak past her and watch her poke Hex's healed wounds. I don't miss the skim of her hand down his chest as she pulls away. I also don't miss the flinch Hex does, his body automatically moving away from another woman's touch.
She nods "yeah definitely, looks like it's been healed for a while" I wince as she lightly scolds us for coming in a week late. To be far, a lot has been going on.
"Will that effect anything?" I question. Hex huffs out a breath as he waits impatiently. I have no doubt he regrets letting me force him to the hospital.
"No, they should be fine" she says as she starts to remove the stitches. I stand behind her, using her back as a shield between my eye's and the healed wounds. Hex watches me over her shoulder, he doesn't so much as wince but his tense muscles show his uncomfortableness as the nurse is too close for his comfort. I hold back a smirk.
The nurse takes her time and Hex starts to twitch as he becomes impatient, she mistakes it for pain.
"Need a break, love?" she smiles at him. He doesn't so much as make eye contact with her as he grunts a 'no' and she starts back at work, her cheeks a light pink colour.
She pulls out the final stitch and Hex stands from the bed, forcing her to take a step back.
"Oh! I still need to clean you up" she says as she pulls out the antiseptic wipes to wipe down the area the stitches were.
"No, it's okay" Hex walks around her and in the direction of the door "Poppy, lets go" Hex holds the door open as he waits for me.
The nurse stands in shock, not sure whether she should force him to sit back down or let him go as she looks at me, expecting me to tell him to sit down. But this is Hex and we're lucky enough he came to the hospital at all and sat long enough for her to get the stitches out.
"Thank you so much, have a good day" I wish before walking under Hex's arm. The door slams closed behind us as he releases his hold on it.
His arm slings across my shoulders as we walk down the hallway.
"I could've done that myself" Hex mumbles from beside me as a we pass a room with murmured chatter coming from inside.
I shake my head as my lips pull into a smile. Always so stubborn.
"I know I know. I just thought you'd appreciate a nice nurse taking them out for you" I play around knowing that Hex was not a fan of the older woman.
He grunts before his hand slides off my shoulder and squeezes my ass.
"Poppy?" I look over my shoulder as a familiar voice calls my name.
"Josie!" I squeal as I walk back towards her, Hex following behind me. She waddles with a hand on her stomach, she had somehow got even bigger since the last time I saw her, she must be due within the next month or so.
"What are you doing here?" she asks as I give her an awkward hug, her belly blocking me. "Hi Hex" she waves a hand at Hex over my shoulder.
I point behind me at Hex "Hex had to get stitches taken out" I explain, she nods in understanding. I expect her to ask what happened but from the knowing look on her face she must've seen what happened on the Hellbound guard's group chat that she's still in.
