[Chamber, copy]

"I might not be the 'real' Chamber, but I hope we can get along well." I say softly while I watch them eat their meal happily.

"Don't you worry about that one." They say after they swallow a piece. "I can't seem to get myself to like the 'real' one, as you addressed him." I tilt my head and at sight of my confusion they put the fork away. "We've got some dirty stuff from the past going on between us. Probably a shit ton of misunderstandings and a lot more. Perhaps to come as well." They sigh deeply and lean back on the chair. "What about you? Do you know my Mirror version?"

At this question I frown. I do not wish to recall any events that happened on Mirror Earth. What stays there, stays there. I don't want to remember anything now.

"Not really." I answer, not sure whether it was a lie or not. Half truth half lie, I just avoided answering them briefly. "You aren't much different there, though." I smile gently when I watch them resume eating. "You've always been an interesting case."

"Thanks. That's what VALORANT says about all their agents. I'm not an exception." [Y/n] rolls their eyes and stabs food with a fork. "Why are you so friendly?"

"I want to make sure there is no unnecessary conflict going on so we can proceed with the plan flawlessly." Being honest is the right thing here. They only nod, showing the understatement towards my view. "I like your answer."

"I know. I'm a very peaceful person."

Time passes by and we get into talks very swiftly, jumping from topic to topic - never stopping. That's what I missed so much about it. Talking with them. I appreciate every second of it and I do not really mind those feelings. I've already lost enough to cut more people off. Humans die eventually - sooner or later.

"You seem more emotionally invested in everything than my ex-friend." They laugh it off.

"I am. Life taught me its lessons." I nod and sigh deeply. "I can bring you warm food more often if you'd like to. I want to improve my cooking skills as well."

"Gladly. I'll enjoy some well-cooked food. And company."

[Y/n]

That is some really nice change.

I feel like someone truly wants to get to know me.

No one expected it from the stiff-businessman-looking dude.

I smile under breath and take a plate to wash it. He stands beside me and starts brewing coffee, which caught be a bit off guard. I didn't expect he'd wish to stay a bit longer.

"Do you drink coffee as well?" He asks, curiosity in his voice.

I nod with confused smile on my face, paying attention once again to the dishes.

'That's... comforting.'

"What other drinks do you like, [y/n]?" He asks, holding two cups in his palms. The whole scenery looks like taken out of the movie.

"Ah, I don't really know... As long as I can drink something, anything seems good." I admit. Recent days weren't too generous to me.

"Good, we'll find out someday. It's unique to have something favourite."

"I don't think it's necessary." I point out and scratch my neck.

"It's not, but what's interesting about it is the way we try to set our favourites. This is the highlight of the process." The smile appears on his lips and he looks at me while raising an eyebrow.

"It feels weird to see you care about me so much."

"I'm not... him." he shifts his head to the wall where their apartment is.

"I know that myself." I smile, then sigh deeply.

Our conversation is interrupted by the door opening abruptly, and another Chamber rushes in. I open my eyes wide, then look at the copy, who crinkles his eyebrows.

"Didn't you hear about the knocking?" he says with a wince.

"I thought they killed you." The newcomer adds, and my head starts to get confused by how identical they are.

"You mean me or them?" Nabs Chamber beside me.

"You." Answers the other coolly, then looks at me. "Hey. I hope you enjoyed your dinner."

"By all means. Your mate is very talented." I admit, then look at Chamber next to me. "I think you need to go now. That soulless demon even got upset about you not coming back."

"Thank you for this evening, Mx. [y/n]."

"Call me [y/n], no courtesy phrases, please." I send a small smile then bid them both farewell.

I close the door and hit my head to it.

"This will be hard." I mutter and look at the cameras that hang right under the ceiling. I flip them off and yell: "YOU THINK I DON'T SEE YOU?!" Snorting, I make my way to the bedroom and throw myself on the bed. Right now I feel exhausted just by existing, and I don't want to meet any of these two tomorrow. Tomorrow should be a me day. Knowing my luck, it won't. The work won't do itself, and after I saw the beginning of these plans, I will have a lot of it. Infiltrating the building, acknowledging bonds, wreaking havoc. At least I won't be bored.

I roll around and lay on my back, staring at the empty ceiling. Some weird dots of light start dancing on it, and I let them consume my attention. The silence rings in my ear annoyingly. I'm used to noise, cars driving outside, police chasing some bad guys and my husband obediently laying beside me. If I wanted a warm hug, I always could tell him to give me one. How about seducing a politician this time? VALORANT will try to keep away from this, as this would anger the people. I'll almost be safe completely.

...

Why did Radianite even come to life? Why does it take over our lives? All these science fiction movies from 2029* become reality, we're taken for experiments and to fight for normal people. I want this to end, I want Radianite to disappear. Maybe I'll even succeed to do it, eventually...?

* For anyone confused, it's around 2039 in VALORANT's universe :)
