Neville was more surprised than he should have been when after classes finished for the day he opened his curtains to a new letter and a single flower. He decided to check what flower it was first.

Neville found the Flower was a Lily-of-the-Valley. Neville hoped Suiren would point out exactly what meanings they meant with it because it has so many. He was leaning towards the meanings like 'Joy, Happiness, and Sweetness' as opposed to 'Christ's Second Coming and Tears of the Virgin Mary' though.

With only slight hesitance Neville opened the envelope which once again had his name written in amethyst calligraphy.

Dear Neville,

I was ecstatic to see you wearing the Goldenrod last night. To be honest it took all I had to not start jumping up and down in joy when I heard and saw you were wearing it.

I am so sorry about the teasing I heard you went through... I should have known asking you to wear a flower would have led to something like that! I am ashamed I didn't think ahead to such an event.

I do hope that the teasing doesn't escalate. Should you need to, blame it on a prank! Say it was spelled onto all your robes, only those you tell otherwise will ever know differently. I mean with the Weasley Twins, or as they're otherwise known The Devil Twins, in Gryffindor Tower no one would doubt that!

If you're having trouble with what flower I've sent along it's a Convallaria Majalis otherwise known as Lily-of-the-Valley I send it with the meanings of Happiness, Joy, Return of Happiness, Trustworthy, Unconscious Sweetness, and You've Made My Life Complete.

Happiness and Joy, because you've made me absolutely elated with your willingness to allow me to continue this admittedly strange form of contact.

Return of Happiness, because you've returned an emotion I'd thought I'd lost many years ago due to circumstance.

Trustworthy, because even now I trust you with my very life. Extreme as it may be, I do trust you that much despite our few interactions.

Unconscious Sweetness, because you always are so. Willing to lend a hand wherever it's needed, and always there to stick up for those who need it.

Finally, You've Made My Life Complete, because with your acceptance I truly do feel like my life, for now, is complete. This was my biggest, and admittedly only, Christmas wish.

You've blessed me with the chance to grasp my happiness and I cannot, with flowers or words, explain how thankful I am for that.

However... Moving on,

I could not help but overhear that you think yourself a squib. NEVILLE FRANK LONGBOTTOM YOU ARE ANYTHING BUT A SQUIB! You are amazingly powerful! My wager would be your wand doesn't fit you and is restraining your talent from blossoming.

I'm well aware it can be hard to accept that you do have talents, especially if you've been told you don't. But know that you will always have my support. Know that ever since I first saw you, I've thought you powerful. You may be shy and slightly clumsy, but those are not detriments! You are wonderful as you are, and I have confidence you will only become an even better person as you grow.

I will say it as many times as I need to:

NEVILLE FRANK LONGBOTTOM YOU ARE PERFECT!
YOU ARE POWERFUL!
NEVER LISTEN TO THOSE WHO TRY TO PUT YOU DOWN!
NO MATTER WHAT YOU ACHIEVE,
WHAT YOUR PARENTS ACHIEVED,
NO MATTER WHAT YOUR GRANDMOTHER WANTS FOR YOU,

YOU
ARE
PERFECT!

I really do hope that someday I'll be able to convince you of that yourself, but until that day I will hold onto that notion for you and tell you anytime you need me to.

With much support,

Suiren.

Neville blushed as he folded the letter back into its envelope. Taking the Lily and placing it in a vase on his trunk. It was startling to him for someone to lay out how they felt like that. He did have to give Suiren some credit though, he did in fact use his father's wand as opposed to one that worked for him.

Neville couldn't help the shy smile that came as his blush cooled. Suiren genuinely thought him powerful, they thought him sweet, and they found happiness in him. It was a slightly heady feeling to someone who had been so overlooked all his life, always being compared to his father.

Neville debated calling for Harry again but decided against it. While Neville would ask for help if he needed it... and maybe give Harry and Flitwick small updates about what was happening, he really wanted to keep this happiness to himself.

With that thought completed, Neville idly wondered how they got their information, but considering how many gossips there were in the school there was no real answer there. Neville decided to let it go and gently moved his new flower off his trunk, placing the letter into a small wooden box in his trunk, where he stored all his letters.

Neville then heard someone enter the room and looked over, seeing Dean he smiled and the other boy returned it.

"Hey Neville! Ron, Harry, Seamus, Hermione, and I were about to head to the Library to do our homework. I'm sure you can guess who's idea that was... We wanted to know if you'd like to join?" Dean said as he went through his trunk and pulled out some pieces of parchment.

Neville thought about it before smiling, yeah that'd be nice. "Sure, I'd be happy to. Let me grab my books?"

Dean smiled and nodded as Neville pulled a few textbooks out of his trunk and put them in a bag, standing up and following the taller boy out of their dorm room.
