Neville gave his letter to Suiren a once over before he sealed it for good. He'd have Charms later that day.

Dear Suiren,

I'm excited to actually get to speak to you if I'm honest.

Before I get into anything, Just for the record I want to say I don't blame you for your absences. We're in school, sometimes things just get taken out of our control, or slip our minds. We're only human, for better or for worse.

Now then; I suppose to start with, I can't thank you enough for your kindness towards me. I'll admit I never really had such positive attention turned on me before you and Professor Sprout. I can't really describe how wonderful it feels to have someone encouraging me. So with all my heart, I thank you for that.

Next, thank you for your honesty and... how upfront you were about your attraction to me. Honesty is something important in any kind of relationship. I can't say I'm attracted romantically to you as of yet, however it doesn't appear that anyone has caught my eye so that doesn't say much about you or me I suppose.

One question I do have is your gender, I do not wish to call or think of you as a female if you are male or vice versa. I also have to admit, despite everything... I am expected, as well as want, to continue on my family line. Should you be a male, and we do decide in the future to pursue a relationship I need to know if you would be willing to go through the processes involved to make having children a reality. Should you be unaware of how this happens, I would be happy to explain in the future.

I want to say I think you're extremely kind and funny. I always look forward to your letters, and I can only hope you will look forward to mine.

I'll be honest I'm a bit at a loss for what to say. I don't know how you do it Suiren, I have a new respect for you now.

I suppose I'll end my letter here and not completely turn you away with rambling.

With much intrigue,
Neville Longbottom.
Heir of the Upper Sacred House of Longbottom.

(Was the formal sign-off too much? I think Gran would kill me if she found out I didn't do it, but it feels like a bit much for a letter between friends...)

Neville laughed a bit at his ending. He did think it was a bit much for a letter between friends, but he supposed better safe than sorry where etiquette was concerned. Then again, he and Suiren were already breaking all kinds of, admittedly less typically followed, etiquette in writing the letters.

Neville shook the thoughts from his head as he poured the wax over the envelope to seal it before slipping it into his bag.

When Neville handed Professor Flitwick his Charms homework he also handed the Professor his Letter to Suiren. The only reaction he got was a slightly larger-than-normal grin from the half-goblin.

"Ah yes, thank you Mr. Longbottom," Flitwick said before he moved on to Seamus who was sitting next to him.

Neville blushed a bit but had a small smile on his face as he wondered when Suiren would reply to him.
