Chapter 12

"So... I found him, my mate. My father though hasn't really warmed up to him yet. And I'm meeting him tomorrow night." I say, and a huge smile lights up on Lilly's face.

"Who?" Lilly asks clearly extremely excited.

"Tate." I say likening the way it rolls off my tongue. Lilly's eyes widen before she looks at Evelyn's calm but annoyed state. Everyone knows who he is and how he is, so no doubt she is shocked.

"So, why are you meeting him?"

"I can't not see him, it's hard right now. I don't know if he is safe or what he is doing. Mates can't be away from each other. Trust me it's hard." I look at her, and she gives me an understanding look. "Like right now I'm craving his touch. The warm tingly feeling I get when our skin touches..." I stop when Lilly yells my name.

"We don't need to know all that." Lilly says making a face. I roll my eyes and laugh at her.

"Hey Evelyn where do you want your party?" I ask her changing the subject.

"You said you couldn't come." She says a little hurt.

"I'll just meet him late." She smiles at me.

"Let's have it at the cabin by the stream." She says smiling non stop.

"That's not in our territory." Lilly says shocked.

"But it's close Lilly, it's right on the edge. I'll ask my father about it though." Evelyn looks at me giving me a hopeful smile.

"Dad please let us have the party there." I beg him.

"Whose going?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me.

"Just the gang and and a few others from school." I say.

"I need a number Maci." He says.

"Like twenty kids" I say, even though most probably won't come. "Fine just the gang." I sigh causing him to laugh.

"Wow what a party." I laugh too. "I guess just be alert, and check by Bentley to see if anything might go wrong." I nod my head hugging him.

"Thank you daddy." I say, and kiss his cheek.

We dress casually for it and meet there. The guys hug me when they meet me there. "It's been so long." Luke says when they let me go. I laugh.

"Really because just the other day I saved your ass from being killed." I say, and he gives me a look.

"We were so worried when you just fell." Brandon says. I look to him and smile.

"I'm fine now."

"Tate took you, and ran you back still being wolves." Luke says. "I tried to stop him, but he growled at me, and Adam ordered me to leave it alone."

"Guys let's forget about it, we are here to celebrate Evelyn turning 18." I say, and they nod in agreement.

The guys came earlier too to get the food and drinks together. Since it's just the gang we know the party won't get too wild. I asked Evelyn who she wanted to come and she just said us. Evelyn isn't here yet as we are still setting up.

It is a sleep over, but I will just sneak out to meet Tate. Then I will just come back before anyone can wake up.

"Do you hear that?" I ask, and they both look at me. Luke snaps his head towards it.

"Now I do." Luke, just like his father, is a tracker, so his sense for smell and hearing are a little more heightened.

He steps forward next to me as we stare out the widow. The noise gets louder, and it is clear they are wolves. The smell hits me and I roll my eyes.

I walk to the door, but Luke pulls my arm trying to stop me. "I won't shift don't worry." I assure him. I yank my arm away from him and open the door stepping out of it.

I come face to face with none other than Tyler. His wolf growls at me, and I just roll my eyes. "This isn't your territory, so why are you here?" He won't answer through mind link. "Does Tate know?" That makes him nervous as he lowers his head a little. There are two other wolves behind him.

"Shift." I order them in a powerful Luna voice. I turn as I hear them shift, but look back when someone says I can. I look back and Tyler seems dazed, but I shrug it off.

'Tate?' I call him through our mate link.

'Yes cupcake.'

'Tyler and some others are here.'

'Where?'

'The cabin by the stream.'

'I'm coming.'

I can't help but feel a little excited. "What are you mutts doing here?" Tyler asks. Then I realize Luke and Brandon are on either side of me.

"Tyler watch it." I warn him. "Remember last time you pissed me off." He looks a little annoyed.

"Yeah well the only reason we didn't get to see who won was because you. You fell to the ground crying in pain then blacking out." Tyler says.

"Easy Tyler." Someone warns him. It was one of the other guys from when I saved Luke. I think it was Trent. Tate's black wolf comes running through into this little clearing. He stops between me and his pack members growling at them. They all take a step back.

"Tate can you shift?" I ask him when he looks back, and his eyes meet mine. He nods his head and he goes behind a tree. He comes back out in basketball shorts that hung low on his hips. His chest is so muscular I think I will start drooling looking at the wonderful sight. I tear my eyes away and back to his, which are full of amusement.

"Well then." He looks to his pack. "Why are you here?" He questions the guys.

"We were patrolling and heard something." Trent says.

"Yeah, so we wanted to check it out." Paul adds.

"We aren't even that close to your territory." I say getting angry, with my temper rising.

"Yeah well we smelled your pack, and knew we needed to see what you were up to." Tyler says. I take deep breaths trying to not smack him. I clench my fists trying not to go all wolf on him.

"What we are doing is none of your business." I growl at him.

"Maci calm down." Brandon try's to soothe me. He puts a hand on my shoulder to try and calm me down. Tate let's out a growl, but no one, but me, knew why.

"Yeah princess calm down." Tyler says back with amusement.

"What did you call me!" I growl loudly lunging at him.
