Chapter 16

I roll my eyes at them. They don't have to get all protective. "They won't touch her." Brandon growls. Tate snaps his head in their direction.

"You think I would put my mate in danger?" He questions raising an eyebrow.

"No. I didn't say that." He says sounding a little afraid.

"So what's the plan?" Luke asks. Tate let's me go as he stands up, and looks at the guys walking out of the room. The girls move to my bed and sit there.

"Evelyn I'm sorry." I say sitting up. She shakes her head at me.

"Don't be. I get it you need him, but I just don't like him." I nod my head understanding. "But I can tell he likes you, and will do anything and everything to keep you safe." I smile at that, as a smile spreads on her face. I turn to Lilly.

"So, how come my brother didn't tell me about you two being mates?" I question her, and she blushes.

"Well I saw you guys come back, and we made eye contact for a second before your Dad got his attention. Then your dad pulled him inside your house." She says frowning.

"I got your back, I can help him get away to see you." I say, and she smiles. We hear fighting downstairs and we jump up heading towards it. I get down there to see Tate and Adam wrestling. I shake my head and look to Lilly.

As soon as she stands next to me Adam stops and looks towards her. Tate gets him in a choke hold. "Tate." I say, and he let's go looking at me meeting my eyes. His were dark, but grew lighter.

"Mine." Adam growls stepping towards Lilly. She blushes bright red as a smile spreads across her face. I watch in awe at them until I feel an arm loop around me. I turn to Tate smiling, and he smiles back.

I grab his hand and take him out of the cabin. The others follow, so the only two left in there were Adam and Lilly. "So I was wondering if tonight you can bring Bentley?" Tate asks me.

"Will it be safe, Sam won't come back?" I ask worried.

"No he won't, and don't worry I won't let anything happen to you two." He says and kisses my forehead. "I have to go now, but meet me at nine." I nod my head, and he leaves.

I quietly walk into Bentley's room and shut the door behind me. I walk up to her little sleeping form and sit on the end of her bed. Before I can try to wake her she opens her eyes and looks at me.

"Mommy?" She asks in a sleepy voice.

"Hi baby, do you want to go meet someone?" I ask her, and she sits straight up.

"Daddy?!" She asks excited, and I nod my head. She hops out of bed and heads for the door. I follow her as we quietly make our way to the front door. I go to open the door but I am stopped by a hand on my shoulder.

I turn around, holding my breath and see my mom. "Where are you two going?" She questions. I look down at Bentley then back to my mom.

"To see daddy." Bentley says. My mother smiles and nods her head. I smile back knowing she gets it.

"Be careful." She says taking her hand off of me. I nod my head and open the door taking Bentley's hand. We run down the front steps and into the woods. We don't bother shifting considering we run pretty fast. When we get to the place, Bentley runs straight to Tate.

A smile grows on his face seeing her. He opens his arms squatting down as she runs to him. He hugs her picking her up. "How's my little princess doing?" He asks.

"I've missed you daddy." She says happily hugging him back.

"I missed you too, princess." He says kissing her head. He moves her so she is sitting on his hip, with his arm holding her close. He looks at me, and I walk over. I kiss his cheek, and he looks at me surprised.

"So, daddy when can we all be together?" Bentley innocently asks. We both look at her, and I shrug.

"I don't know, but hopefully soon. Your grandfather just has to be happy that I'm with mommy." He says so nicely to her. I swear you would never be able to tell he is known as a killer, if you saw him now. The sight of the two of them together makes me smile.

I put my arms around Tate's waist side hugging him. It took him by surprise, but he put his other arm around me pulling my closer to him. "Thanks for bringing Bentley." He whispers in my ear, and I smile.

"Can you put me down now? I want to play with you, daddy." She says. We both laugh and he puts her down.

"What do you want to play?" He asks.

"Tag, but you're it." She says excitedly.

"Alright start running." He says. He turns to me. "Are you playing?" I shake my head.

"You two have fun." I say, and watch him run after her. I hear chuckling behind me and turn to see Holden. I run to him wrapping my arms around him.

"Hi, and I missed you too." He says wrapping his arms around me.

"What are you doing here?" I ask pulling away. We sit on the ground facing each other.

"I wanted to see my sister, and wanted to see how things were. Hey do you think I can finally really meet her?" He asks fiddling with his hands.

"Of course you can." I say smiling and he grins at me. Just then Bentley comes running and hides behind me. Then Tate comes and stops looking at Holden then to me.

"Where did she go?" He asks still playing the game. Bentley giggles behind me, and Tate sneaks around and grabs her. She squeals and laughs as he picks her up and sits next to me putting her on his lap. "Hi Holden, how have you been?" Tate asks nicely tickling Bentley's sides.

"I been good, I guess. How have you been?" He asks.

"Daddy, how do you know him?" She asks, and I smile at her and look at Tate's big smile.

Tate looks at Holden and gives him a nod. "Bentley, Do you remember me?" Holden asks. She stares at him in the dark of night at him. I look at her and see the smile on her face.

"Holden!" She shouts getting out of Tate's grip and jumping into Holden's.
