Chapter 9 : September 13th

Nichole POV

        I haven't talked to Nast in a minute , but she hit me up today . She asked what I was doing & then she did the unexpected . She told me that she liked me & asked me out but nah . I wasn't with that . I hated you for this long period of time & all of a sudden you wanna date me ? I know it sound strange that I was turning her down because of my history but I just didn't wanna date her . She wasn't somebody I saw myself with & she didn't grab my attention . I could keep her on the side though . I might need her in the long run . 

*Back at School *

        I had just left third period & Harmony didn't come today . I didn't have a pretty face to look at . I was walking to my fourth period geometry class when I was stopped by a deep voice .

"Aye Nichole !" I turned around & this darkskinned boy was standing not to far away from me . His name way Brandon & he was in my second & third  period classes . 

"Yeah ?" I said .

"Do you want to go out with me ?" he asked . 

I looked at him dumbfounded . I barely knew dude & I never payed him no mind until now . His face looked so sad like he wanted to cry almost . I could tell how nervous he was because he couldn't stand still . I gave him his credit for being brave enough to come up to me though . "Um , lemme think about it ." I said . 

"Alright ." he said . I walked away still thrown off about what just happened , but I continued my journey to class .

All fourth period I was thinking about what that boy had asked me . He seemed so sweet , I didn't wanna reject him like that . I don't like telling people no I hate hurting feelings . The bell rang & interrupted my thoughts . I walked outta class cautiously cause I wanted to avoid this Brandon dude . I was still with Lina surprisingly . We never broke up after those two incidents that happened . I tried making my way towards the main building but I heard someone call my name . 

"Aye Nichole ." 

"Fuck ." I mumbled to myself . I turned around & guess who I was standing face to face with ? Brandon . 

"Did you think about it ?" he asked . 

"Damn he don't waste no time ." I thought to myself . "Yeah ." I said .

He looked at me with those puppy dog eyes as if he was saying "Well ?"

"What ?" I asked . 

"What's your answer ?" he asked . 

Was I really about to do this shit ? I was silent before hesitantly saying , ".....yeah ." I wasn't tryna ruin nobody day . I could tell that made him happy . I walked with him the remainder of lunch . He didn't say much I guess he was shy . 

*A Couple Days Later*

        I was walking around with Brandon when I saw Harmony . I was surprised to see her I haven't seen her in about a week . She walked up to me flashing those pretty ass dimples . "Where you been at ?" I asked . 

She explained to me how she got in trouble & she got in school suspension . "That's crazy ." I said .

She looked at me then back at Brandon . "Why y'all walking together ?" she asked . 

"Just because ." I said before Brandon could say anything . "We gotta go ." I said . I gave her a hug & walked away . Me & her had this unexplainable vibe that neither of us spoke on . Every time we were around each other it was like instant chemistry . I couldn't act on my feelings though because she was already in a relationship , not like it stopped me before , but I wanted to approach her the right way . I figured if I played my position correctly , I could have her where I want her .
