Chapter 12 : Questions

Nichole POV

Everything's been going good , I've been happy asf , but it seems as if some stuff is starting to slowly switch up . I'm not complaining though , I'm trying to keep my composure . Homecoming was in a few days & I'm really debating on if I wanna go or not . I'm thinking about it , but for the most part my answer is no .

It was third period & I'm chilling in the back of the classroom with my baby . We still talk on a daily basis , but she starting to act distant . I don't wanna get into though cause I don't wanna make her mad by asking . She was talking to this lightskin nigga in our class & I didn't approve of that shit none cause he liked her . We ain't together but that shit still got to me . I don't remember what he said to her , all I know is it set me off . I was heated & it was only a few seconds till the bell rang . Once it finally did I was outta that muhfucka .

I walked to the building my next period was in , but I wasn't in the mood to go to class . I was hot & it was really obvious .

"Just calm down ." my bestfriend T said .

"Nah , that shit really got me hot ."

I knew in the back of my mind it wasn't me who usually acted like this . I was usually the chill one , doing what I want & not giving a fuck about nothing . I don't know why I'm so emotionally attached when it came to her & it was something I didn't like at all . I'm not used to being so invested , but I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later right ? I saw Harmony walking up the stairs & I got hot all over again juss by looking at her face . She saw how upset I was & dragged me to the side .

"What's wrong whichu ?" she asked .

"Nothing . I'm straight ." I replied back even though we both knew damn well I was lying .

"I'ma ask you again , what's wrong with you ?" she said.

"And I'ma tell you again , nothing ."

I hate talking about my feelings . I rather just put a guard up & let it go . I'm not the type to just up & tell you what's wrong with me & it annoys the fuck outta me when people continuously ask , like just leave it the fuck alone . I figured she was gone eventually stop asking , but I was sadly mistaken . She asked me about 3 more times & I juss let it go cause she was bugging a nerve .

"You know that nigga like you but yet you still interacting with him . You like him back or something ?" I asked .

"That's what you mad about ?" she asked . "Nah I don't like him ."

" Should I believe it ?" I thought to myself .

My thoughts were interrupted by her pinning me to the wall . All of a sudden I felt this sharp ass pain in my neck . She was biting the shit out of it . It hurt but I wasn't finna let her know that . I took it & stood there motionless . She bit my neck for what seemed like forever until she finally let go . I switched our positions pinning her up against the wall . I wanted to kiss her but something told me not to . I was seconds away from leaning in , but in the back of my mind I was thinking she was gone curve me or be like nah . I let her go , regretting not taking the opportunity but it was too late now .

Homecoming

It was the night of homecoming & I was anxious as hell . I finally made my mind up that I was going . It was a last minute decision , so I literally had nothing to wear . I juss had to put something together that was in my closet . I got out the car & walked into the dance . As I approached the entrance , I read a sign that had a whole bunch of rules on them . No dancing on each other or lapdances . No food & drink inside the gym . Etc , etc . It's always something with this school . I walked inside with the girl that I came here for & scanned the gym . I really don't like shawty & I'm finna even mention her name she begged me to come so I came . After about 20 minutes Harmony walked in . She was looking bad as ever . She said wassup to the girl I was with , but walked straight passed me . I had to laugh , cause we were juss texting less then 30 minutes ago , but now you wanna act like you don't know me . That's cool , I'm not tripping none cause two can play that game I could juss play it better . I couldn't keep my eye off her cause she looked like a dime piece , but I tried my hardest . Everything was juss perfect & I wanted a sample , but I had a feeling she was finna be on some fufu lame iffy type shit so I left it alone .

Tonight wasn't a night to be a wallflower , so I grabbed this nigga named Jacob & danced with him . He didn't look like the dancing type , but he wasn't too bad . After about 2 songs I happened to get in the big ass circle everyone created . I was really into the song until somebody flashed a bright ass flashlight in my face . I stopped & looked up only to see an administrator telling me to come with them .

"Fuck ." I thought to myself .

We exited the gym & walked out to the main entrance .

They point at the door & say "Did you see this sign walking in ?"

I said , "Yeah ."

"Don't do it again ." they said . "I'm giving you a warning . Next time I catch you're out ."

I nodded my head indicating that I understood . No less than 5 minutes I was out there back at it . To be honest , I was fucking shit up . I had my eye out for an administration though . I felt through my hair already knowing it sweated out . I didn't give a fuck though I kept dancing . I spotted Harmony , even though I was trying to keep my focus off of her for the rest of the night . She was dancing with some football player & you wouldn't believe me if I said I wasn't surprised . I figured some shit like that was bound to happen & it didn't phase me one bit . I could tell she spotted me too cause she looked in the direction . I did the same making a mental note to not care about what she doing or who she doing it with . After they announced homecoming king & queen I stepped outside . I tied my hair in a pony tail & unlocked my phone . I checked my Facebook notifications to see if she messaged me & luckily she did . She knew everything about the Harmony situation & she needed to know about the bullshit that was going on tonight . I told her everything from Harmony ignoring me , from me ignoring her , not wanting to care about her anymore & ending . She knows how much feelings & time I invested . Its been 3 months & it seem like we falling out instead of becoming closer . She thought it was best for me to juss do what my heart felt & it felt as if it wanted to let go . My phone vibrated & my mom was calling me . There was still 30 minutes left & don't get me wrong I had fun , but I was over the night .

I took a shower & changed into some pajamas . My legs were sore from all that dancing , but it was worth it because I had a good time . I checked my phone to see if I had any notifications from Harmony . Nada . I'm not surprised . I texted her instead since it seem like I'm making more of an effort anyway

Me - You looked sexy asf tonight , hope you had a good time

Harmony - Thanks , did you have fun ?

Me - Yep

No reply . I wanted to know why she switching up on me & I was determined to find out .
