James's POV

Today is the last chance to grab candy off the shelves before Halloween. Adam insisted to go last minute so we could save on costumes and candy. Sure the lines would be longer but it would be worth it in the end. We already ordered our costumes to ship to our house before the big night.

"Alright what candies should we get the kids and ourselves?" Adam asked.

"Can we get some M&Ms? I love M&Ms!" I said happily. Adam nodded and added some into our shopping cart. "So what's your favorite candy Adam?"

"Oh I don't really eat a lot of candy. It makes me too hyper. But I wouldn't mind having something chocolate too. Maybe some Reese's Cups. Snickers are too bad ether I guess. Why don't you pick?"

I quickly ran into the chocolate isle and picked up different types of chocolate bags. I grabbed some Kit Kats, Reese's Cups, Snickers, and more M&Ms. Adam observed my selection then smiled at me. His smile was the sweetest treat of all.

Next we went to the fruity candies isle. Adam gasped and ran inside to grab some gummy worms for himself and some Sour Patch Kids for the Trick or Treaters. "I prefer gummies over chocolate candy", he chuckled a little. I giggled after him then pushed the cart over.

My legs were already getting tired by the time we picked up some lollipops. Adam said we had enough candy for the night. I sighed and leaned on his shoulder as we started to make our way to the line.

"Wanna ride in the cart sleepy?" He asked.

I head popped up as soon as he asked. I hopped inside, careful not to squish the candy with my butt. Adam then started to run to the check out line. I gasped as soon as I felt the wind in my face. We both started laughing as we zoomed around the store. We got a couple of glares from other customers. We didn't really care too much because we were having so much fun.

The fun ended quickly as we almost bumped into a mother and her child in the line. Adam slammed to a stop and I jolted inside. The other then turned around and started yelling at us. A total Karen but we were being pretty childish. No security guard told us to leave it warned us of what we were doing and it wasn't like we broke anything. Still we apologized for almost hitting her and her son and stood on line, holding back huge smiles and small giggles.

Adam carefully pushed me and our bags of candy outside of the store and loaded them into the car. "Let's not forget the most important package." Adam announced. He then picked me up as if I was his bride and placed me in the front passenger seat. I giggled a little as he picked me up. Being in his arms made me feel safe, warm, and really happy. He giggled with me as he then closed the door.

"Ready to go home James?"

I nodded quietly as he started the engine. I leaned close to him as I began to smile. I glanced at him every so often and my heart skipped a beat. My head fell dizzy and my eye lids felt heavy. Before I knew it I was sleep next to him, nice and cozy.
