Adam walked outside as the rain poured. The dark atmosphere matched the mood he was feeling - depressed. He had been since the day James had died. His heart was still broken from that very day. He took to the streets and walked through the rain as it beat the sidewalk. He moved quickly as he reached the graveyard.

He looked around for the grave of his beloved. Once he found it he stood, looking down at the grave. He stared at it for a few minutes, taking in all his emotions. His eyes started to well up as he felt a sharp pain in his chest. He missed James, so much. Everyday from when he woke up to the second he fell asleep James was on his mind. Adam was so sick, of wish for James. His was tired of this heart break he felt. It was time for him to do something he has wanted to do for a long time.

He pulled out a small bottle from his sweater pocket. Inside there was an orange sparkly liquid. He pulled out his phone to a text message he got from his friend Swirl:

Adam poured the liquid on the grave. He watched as it glowed and shimmered as it fell on to the ground. Once the bottle was empty Adam started the chant, "Bring the one that has been lost. Bring him here at any cost. Return his should and watch him rise. The fallen angel, the one that died."

It was silent. Adam waited for something to happen. Yet, it was so quiet you could hear a pen drop. Adam sighed in disappointment. The spell had failed. There was no way to get James to return.

As he was giving up, the grave glowered. The brunette covered his eyes from the blinding light. Something was rising from the grave. He just couldn't make out what or who it was. Whatever was coming out of the grave, it rose. It flew above the young man and landed in front of him. The light started to die down and Adam finally opened his eyes.

As soon as he did however, tears filled them. As for what was standing in front of him was his blond lover that he lost so long ago. "James!" Adam yelled. He ran over and hugged James tightly. Tears were streaming down his face in joy and disbelief. He couldn't be more happy to see James' return. On the other hand, the blond couldn't of been more confused.

"Who are you?"

The male pulled away and looked the blond on the eyes. "Jameson it's me, Adam! We've known each other for years!" Adam tried to explain.

"We did?" James replied in confusion.

Adam's smile faded as he realized his angel no longer recognized him. Did he do something wrong in the spell? What happened to James? Why didn't he remember? Adam quickly took off his sweater and put it on James to protect him from the rain. He then decided to take James to see the one who gave the spell - Swirl.

"I don't know what you mean. It worked just like it was supposed to." Swirl explained.

Adam had brought James to Swirl's tent. It was a small area where Swirl enjoyed to work on their spells. As James admired the potions stocked up everywhere, Adam was panicking over the fact that James no longer remembered any of the magical moments in their life together.

"What do you mean this is how the spell is supposed to work!? It was supposed to bring him back from the dead," Adam said.

"And it did, didn't it?" Swirl asked pointing to James who was very much alive.

Adam took a deep breath, trying to calm down and process whatever the hell was going on. "Why doesn't he remember me?" Adam asked in a calmer tone.

"You see, cheating death does come with consequences. There's a lot of things you need to know." Swirl started, "The cost of having James come back is that he no longer remembers you or any of the moments he had spent with you. He only remembers up to around 20 years. He won't remember much of his channel, friends, or you."

Adam whimpered at the thought.

"However, those memories can be triggered. You can try and remind James of all the times he spent with you." Swirl explained.

"Oh, so he can remember me! That's great! We have plenty of time to do that," Adam said happily.

"You don't have as much time as you think," Swirl replied, "The spell only keeps James alive for a year. So, a year from today James will be no more. He will return to his grave and you won't be able to use the spell again."

Adam felt his heart drop. He looked over to the clueless man. He felt a small grin grow upon his face. "Well, it's better than nothing," he said happily.
