James' POV

Adam's scream echoed down the hallway. It was frightening, I've never heard him so upset before. I made my way downstairs but I hid by the corner. I hate invading his privacy but I just wanna know what he's dealing with so maybe I could help.

"I want him to remember me so bad," he yelled. "He's been remembering his friends, his family who he wants to meet for Thanksgiving but I have to tell him no, and any random stranger that comes to mind! Even video game characters. But he just doesn't remember me."

Who's he talking about? Is it me? Are we not having my parents over to the holiday? Why not?

"Why couldn't you just make a spell to give his memories back?"

Is he talking about my memories? I mean I get it. I forgot a lot of stuff but it's not on purpose. I'm trying my hardest. I don't know why I can't remember things. I still get migraines almost every day whenever I try to remember something. It's like my brain is rotting.

"MAKE IT FUCKING WORK!"

Is he trying to put a spell on me?

"Yeah and I know why. It's because you're a useless good for nothing WITCH WHO CANT EVEN DO A SIMPLE SPELL RIGHT!" He yelled as he threw his phone at the wall.

I quietly ran back upstairs out of fear. Who was he talking to? Was he talking about me? Is he trying to get someone to put a spell on me? Why isn't he telling me these things.

I decided to wait a few hours before asking Adam any questions but he seemed to be different. He dragged his feet when he walked, he didn't touch his instruments or drawing tablet, he wasn't eating. All he had was his phone and a book that he'd flip through the pages of. Adam wasn't himself anymore and it was concerning me.

The next day, Adam didn't even leave him room. I decided that I would make him some breakfast and maybe even talk to him. I made him some pancakes the same way we did not too long ago and took them up to his door.

"Adam! I made you breakfast!" I sang.

It was quiet for a few seconds until I heard some footsteps heading up to the door. When the door finally opened Adam was in the middle of putting his shirt on. I felt his face heat up as I watched his body get covered. I then looked at his face again and cleared my throat.

"You made me pancakes?"

"Yeah! Just like the ones we made like two months ago! I hope you like them!" I said and handed the tray over.

I saw a small grin on his face as he looked at the tray then back at me. "You remembered that huh?"

"It's one of my favorite memories!"  I said as I chuckled.

"Yeah mine too." he sighed.

I took a small peek into his room. It was messy which was kinda normal for him but I also noticed the book that he had. It was sitting on his bed, leaning on the side of his pillow. It was a blue cover with rainbow lettering that read, "Our Adventure Book."

I left Adam to enjoy his pancakes as I walked downstairs, something about that book. What was it about that book. It was familiar for some reason. I knew that book. I've seen it before, before Adam was sad, I've just seen it before but when?

A sharp pain broke through my head as if someone had shoved a sword through it. It made a loud ringing sound in my ears and it made my sight blurry. It was worse than any of the other migraines I had before. I screamed at the top of my lungs as I felt the world darken around me. The last thing I heard was someone running towards me.

"JAMES!!!"
