No Matter What A Woman Looks Like, If She's Confidant She's Sexy
~ Paris Hilton
When I say 'Looks Can Help,' I Don't mean that you need to change or focus solely on how you look. What I'm trying to get at is the fact that being comfortable in your body is a huge step forward. However, this is many smaller steps all put into one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1. Find Your Own Style
Go on Pinterest, watch movies, go shopping, try on new things. I'm sure most of you have heard the word Aesthetic.
A personal Aesthetic is basically a style that best represents you and your personality. The most common aesthetics are:
Grunge
Soft
Indie
Cottagecore
Fairycore
So on.....
If you aren't sure about what aesthetic best suits you, that's okay. It may take time to find one that you are completely comfortable in. However, when looking for one that you connect with, keep in mind that you are doing this for YOU. So, when you're looking at outfits, don't think about what other people will think about it. Fuck them. This is all for you, for you to connect with yourself, be comfortable in your style and body, what people think about it doesn't matter.
Remember, if someone has a problem with it, then they probably aren't the best to hang out with.

There are many more, for inspiration I suggest Pinterest :)

Being Comfortable In Your Skin
Now, being comfortable in your clothes is the first step. However, when we shed the layers, does that take away our confidence? If we're using our clothing as a mask... as a rope to keep us up, what happens when we lose them? In the end, it's just you and our body, so embrace it!
However, I get it. It's a lot easier said than done. So, I'll give you all a few ideas. ;)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2. Treating Yourself With Care And Kindness
There are many ways you can do this, but I'm going to start off with the more easy less time-consuming ways to treat yourself right.
Starting off with the physical methods:
1. Skin routine. ~ Be sure not to overload your face with products. This includes make-up and face wash. I suggest using no more than three different face wash products.
2. Daily Moisturizing. ~ Moisturizing your body every night or at least every other can create a big difference. Not only will you no longer have dry skin, but you'll be feeling smooth and comfortable. I do, however, suggest using natural moisturizer, using lots of lotion with perfumes and chemicals can actually be worse for your skin than not using any at all.
3. Let Your Body Breath. ~ This means wearing less tight tops or pants. Upgrade to sweats and a hoodie every now and then. When you get home from school, work, remove that bra and let yourself breathe. I usually do this when journaling or reading at home.
4. Maturbate. ~ I know, this one is a little weird, we'll get more into it later. For now, just trust me. Self-pleasure is one of the best ways to unwind and let you and your body relax.
5. Move around. ~ Whether it's sports, dance, yoga, or just daily stretching, make sure you do something that allows your body to move around. I get that at school and work we're walking around all day, but that's not what I mean. Every night before you go to bed, try doing some simple stretching, or do some pilates in the morning, or go for a jog. Exercise is key to physical and mental health. However, be sure not to overwork yourself.
These are all some great, easy ways to keep your body and skin healthy. Some, more time-consuming than others. No need to do all of these at once, but I suggest giving them all a try and finding out which works best for you.
Next, spiritual methods:
1. Be In Nature. ~ Go outside more, climb trees, run through a field of grass and flowers. Go on a picnic. Act like a kid. Yes, you're not one, but you're not an adult yet either. Enjoy it.
2. Flow. ~ Dance, move. This kind of relates to step 5 of the physical methods, but do this for you. Find a good song, whether it's something you'd listen to at a wedding or a frat party, just let the music carry you as you clear your mind of any negative thoughts.
3. Incense. ~ You can buy incense in stores or make your own, just burn it and let the natural scent fill the room and your mind.
4. Socialize. ~ Hanging out with people who support and love you is another great way to keep yourself thriving.
Most of these are more for a better state of mind than it is for your body but believe me when I say, a positive way of thinking will only make things easier.
