"Oh, Darren, you were the one to find her?" ... Mom? Who is she talking to?

"Yes, I saw her by the side of the road, walking towards the forest on my way back for break." That voice. I know that voice. My eyes shoot open and I look around; I'm in my bed and the disgustingly bright sun is shining through my window. UGH, didn't I shut the blinds last night? I always do... Oh yeah, Dad brought me up last night. Hmm. Sad how they don't even know that I don't like my blinds closed when the sun is out. Shaking my head, I get up and close them, then I crawl back into my Queen sized bed. Wait, wasn't there someone downstairs?

"alright? I was relieved to see her in one piece at the police station. Wow, ha, I didn't even know she was the mayor's daughter! Guess I should pay more attention when I come home huh?" The voice chuckles. I swear I know that voice!

"Oh, I don't even know how to thank you, I have no idea what she would even want to be doing in there. She probably doesn't even know what's in there. If anything had happened I--" I hear Mom sniff a bit; is she crying? And I know she and the voice were talking about me. She'd asked if he was the one to find me... THAT GUY?! Ugh, is he back to ruin my life some more?!

"Did you ask her?" The voice asks.

"She said she was going on a hike." Mom sighs, " but I don't understand why she would go in there, everyone in this town knows it's strictly off limits! What's worse is that the sheriff and his men ended up having to go in there too! Oh dear, if anything had happened!" Off limits?! Why would such a glorious place be off limits!? I swear, people are weird...

"It's okay, Mrs. Myers! It's all over, it won't happen again. Vivian looked very sick yesterday, I'm sure it was just a moment of looniness from the sickness. I'm sure she understands how dangerous it is in there! Come on now, the Mayor's wife should never cry!" Oh, so she is crying. It's my fault isn't it... It's always my fault.

Hey Vi, do you think they'll find out what I've really been doing in there? What if they make sure Aiden never sees me again?! No, they can't find out! They can't take him from me! They ca--

Calm down Vivi! We just have to be careful. For now you should rest up and--

I'm not a hospital patient, Vi! I don't need to rest! I need Aiden. I didn't get to see him yesterday, so we HAVE to go today!

Vivi, you don't pay attention do you? Look back on the police station; that doctor guy kept asking you questions and everyone seems to freak out when they look at you. Don't you think it could be possible that you really do need medical attention?

Vi, shut up. I. AM. FINE. I don't need help, I need Aiden.

Okay, you need Aiden, how are you going to get to him? If you haven't noticed, nobody seems to want you to go in there, and your mom hasn't left yet. I highly doubt tha--

Vi was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Vivian? Honey, you up?" Ugh, go away!

The door opens and my mother slowly makes her way to the window. Don't open it, don't open it, don't open it. Oh for the love of all things holy, PLEASE don't open it! Of course, the world doesn't seem to care much for my happiness so with a WHOOSH the blinds are opened, the disgustingly bright lights attack my face again. My eyes slam shut immediately. I see a red-orange color that I know is just the back of my eyelids. It's so interesting how when we close our eyes, we are still seeing; just that we see the inside of our eyelids. With the light against them, if I concentrate hard enough, I can make out the little squiggly veins creeping along the lids. those veins carry blood. Blood, hmm. Blood inside my eyelids. How cool would it be if we cried tears of blood?
