Home at last... I lay looking up at the ceiling in my small apartment. My body is sore from the day and my eyes begin fluttering shut. The days events keep playing in my mind. One in particular more frequently than the others.
...
"I look up to see two red eyes focusing on our joined hands before slowly looking up into mine. Time stops for a moment. Seconds feel like minutes as we gaze at each other, his large, heavy hand gently placed over my much smaller one. Lightly enough as to not crush it.
...
"Ugh... Why can't I stop thinking about that?" Maybe the weirdness of it just confuses my brain too much." I think to myself before turning to lay on my side. I continue replaying memories of the day before my brain grows too tired and I eventually fall asleep.

It's the next day in the afternoon now and i've just arrived at work. "Ah, Friday. How I missed you." I relish in the fact that I have the next two days off. I got in a bit earlier today that I usually would, meaning it's a bit more packed and lively than i'm used to. "Well it can't be that bad right? It's mostly just kids. I don't mind them too much." I reassure myself before walking from my car to the entrance of the gigantic building. I'm immediately met with the sound of laughter and children running around, happy as can be. I can't help but smile at the sight. "Heh. Reminds me of when I was a kid." I sigh contently before heading to the staff area. I say my usual greetings all while pretending yesterday night didn't happen. I thought it'd be better to keep it to myself. I didn't want any drama to ensue. I look at my list for the day and it's just the usual general repairs and such. I let out a comfortable sigh and gather my things. "Alright, first we have a faulty vending machine near the arcade. Easy enough." I begin heading over to the area. I quickly reach the machine and begin assessing the problem before grabbing the necessary tools to fix it. Just as i'm about to finish, I get a tap on my shoulder. I turn to face whoever it was and I find my supervisor standing behind me. "Oh, hey. What's up?" I ask while getting on my feet. "Hello, y/n. I noticed you clocked out a bit later that usual last night. Just wanted to make sure there were no problems." He explains. "Oh man... They didn't check the cameras did they? No they couldn't have... they only check them when something serious happens..." I nervously think to myself. "Oh, uh, just ran into a little set back with a repair. But it wasn't really anything worrisome." I say with a smile. A fake one that hopefully he can't see through. "Oh, alright. That's good to hear. Just wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. Keep up the good work!" He says before patting my shoulder and walking off. "Phew... I was just overthinking." I'm relieved that there was no further questioning. I finish the last of the repair on the vending machine and grab my list to look at my next task. "Hey, y/n." A voice calls out in front of me as i'm looking at my list. I look up to find a co-worker in front of me. "Sheesh, I'm doing a lot of talking today, huh?" I think to myself. "Hey, what's up?" I ask. "A supervisor said that a bot in the party area by the main stage is acting up and needs immediate fixing. He asked me if I could do it but I'm swamped... Do you mind doing it? I know you usually work in the back areas but I could really use the help." He pleads to me. I think it over for a moment. There's a performance going on right now. It must be urgent. Plus the guy looks desperate. "Sure, i've got some time to spare. Leave it to me!" I say smiling. "Thank you so much! I owe you one! The name's Aiden by the way. Let me know if you ever need help." He exclaims before swiftly returning to his other tasks. "Alright, Aiden. I may take you up on that one day so don't regret it." I whisper to myself before letting out a light chuckle. I gather my things and head to the birthday party area by the main stage to repair the faulty bot.

When I arrive i'm met with loud cheering from children all around wearing party hats accompanied by tired adults who are probably watching the clock, waiting for the day to end. "Yikes it's loud. Maybe a little too loud. Isn't this a kids party? It feels like i'm in a mosh pit again. Brings me back." I laugh to myself before looking around for the machine my coworker described to me. As i'm scanning the area I glance at the stage. I'm quite a ways back behind the crowd, but I can still make out the performance. "Ugh..." I'm immediately brought back to last night once I spot him. "Look at him up there. Kids love him. If only these parents knew." I click my tongue and continue my search for the faulty robot. "Ah-ha!" I spot a robot in the corner who appears to be running into a wall and saying random programmed sentences without being interacted with. I promptly head over. "This should be no problem. Probably just need to reboot the system." I hold the bot still while I begin my work. A sudden cracking sound fills my ears from above and I look up swiftly to find the source of the noise. It's a beam with lights attached that appears to be loose. "Wow, how safe. Especially considering this is a kids place." I say to myself brushing it off before continuing the repair. As i'm focused on the robot the party behind my dies down and the performance comes to an end. Families head to different areas of the building and soon enough it's quiet. "Right. Almost done now." I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand and begin finishing up the final touches. "There! Good as new!" I mentally pat myself on the back and watch as the bot returns to normal and rolls away back to its programmed tasks. "That wasn't so hard." I say. Suddenly I hear the cracking again, this time much louder than before and look up to see the loose light beam crashing down onto me, hitting another light fixture on its way down, causing glass to fall as well. It was so sudden I didn't have time to move away. I close my eyes tightly and bring my hands to my head on instinct, waiting for the impeding impact. I stand still for a moment in that position until I realize I wasn't met with any impact at all and I slowly open my eyes and look up. The beam is inches from my head. I trace the edges of the beam with my eyes and am met with two familiar clawed hands on either side supporting it from falling any further.
"Huh?"
