Tired.

Candace was more than exhausted. The night before she could barely fall asleep. Maybe it was the constant energy drinks that she chugged. She didn't really have to pack besides putting a few bikinis in her suitcase and washing her clothes. But when she logged on to her computer, she realized that netflix had posted another season of her favorite show. Of course, she had to binge watch it before she saw any spoilers.

The hour car ride to the private airport was very lengthy. Candace's sister, Gemma, was driving. In Candace's opinion her sister wasn't the best, or even good for that matter. Their mom was going to fly on Sunday because she wasn't feeling well so Gemma would be in charge of everyone.

Sometime later they got to the small airport where their private plane would be.

Her Gemma parked in the parking lot where many other cars were. Candace opened the car door and got her two suitcases. They all went into the hanger and saw Paula and Ben.

Paula was looking at her phone with a drawstring backpack on her back. Her curly hair was in a bun and her glasses were on. Her curtain bangs that wrapped around her head looked messy but stylish. She looked very tired with tiny dark circles under her eyes. Then she looked up and saw Candace.

"Finally, I've been waiting forever!" Paula waved her hand.

"Well, I just got here. Have you seen Emma yet?" Candace asked Paula, looking around.

"She texted me eight minutes ago that she'll be on time," Paula said hopefully, checking her phone again.

"You look tired," Candace commented.

"At least I'm not the one who told my best friends that they're leaving for Hawaii in less than fourteen hours."

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"Why do you look tired?" Paula noticed her tired face.

"Let's just get on the plane," Candace suggested, starting to regret watching Netflix late at night.

Ben must've heard her because he got on the plane as well. Candace looked at the seating chart and followed it to her seat. She sat at a window aisle, but Paula sat on the opposite side.

Soon Candace's friend Amber Sypher went on the plane. Candace had invited her to the trip. No one said she couldn't, and Candace's mom didn't mind.

"Hi, Amber," Candace said to Amber. Amber pulled her in a hug and Paula got out of her seat and joined in.

Two other people walked past them, and Candace and Paula gave a simple wave. Candace got out of the hug and Paula walked back to her seat.

After several minutes of nonstop chatter from the girls, Emma finally got on the plane followed by her brother and cousins. Emma turned to Candace's aisle and sat in the middle seat.

Candace got up and told Emma she'll be right back. Candace went to where Paula was, and she sat next to another girl.

"Paula, do you have my sweatshirt I let you borrow?"

"Oh, yeah, I do!" Paula began searching through her bag when Matthias came.

Matthias stopped right in front of Paula and told her, "Get out."

"What?" Candace asked.

"This is my seat."

Paula raised one of her eyebrows and said, "This is my seat. I have the ticket." Paula showed everyone the ticket.
