An Unexpected Call

        The next day came and it was just a normal day. I answered my exams, went home for lunch, took a nap and reviewed my notes for the last day of exams. While I was reviewing, I received a call from Joseph.

        At first, I was excited to answer it but then I have to keep calm and keep my composure. So I answered it and asked about his thesis writing just to start the conversation. But there was no answer and I got really curious. After that I heard the tune of a guitar and I asked what was going on. Suddenly he said “Jessie, this one’s for you!” I didn’t know what he was talking about but I know that something was going on.

        Suddenly he was singing to me and I listened to the lyrics and it talked about love. I was puzzled that time and didn’t know what to say after that. He asked if I understood the lyrics and I said that I understood some of it. I asked why he sang me a song like that and he answered that he just did it for the gift that I gave to him on his birthday. I was relieved that he got the letter and he was able to read it but I didn’t know what his reaction was. Then I thanked him for the song and I told him that I needed to review for my exams. He was okay with it so he thanked me and said goodbye to me.

        After that I smiled like an idiot and couldn’t stop thinking about him. I was so happy and in love with him and I cannot explain the feeling that he gave me. I told Joan about what happened and she was impressed and she told me that he likes me as well but I didn’t want to expect from him so I just told myself not to expect so much from him. Then I reviewed until I got sleepy.
