You were sat in the living room with your two roommates, Dan and Phil. Phil was sat on his own chair where as you lay across another with your head resting on Dan's lap.
No, you and Dan were not a couple, but you were extremely close. You had moved in with the boys a year ago now and have never regretted it.
"Who are you texting, Dan?" Phil asked. Dan had missed most of the movie as he was sat staring at the screen of his phone, the light glowing onto his joyful face.
"Uh, just cat" Dan smiled
"Oh, okay" Phil replied with raised eyebrows.
The room went silent again as the movie continued to show on the TV screen.
After another hour you all decided it was time to turn in, you all walked your separate ways to your rooms, Dan's eyes still glued to his phone.
Usually you and Dan would have sat up all night together, watching videos, playing mario kart and all sorts of things. However he didn't even say good night to you this time. You couldn't deny the pinch of jealousy that rest in you stomach, yet you knew that there was nothing you could do about it. You were simply close friends.

"Morning Dan" you greeted as you entered the kitchen to make a cup of tea.
"Oh, morning Y/N" he smiled in return
"So I was thinking about going to the movies tonight, would you like to come?"
"Sorry I can't tonight. I'm going out" Dan replied, his voice filled with excitement
"Oh, where are you going?" Usually whenever Dan went out you were always invited
"Actually, I'm going on a date with Cat" Dan smiled.
You suddenly got a sickly feeling in the bottom of your stomach. Why should this bother you? Your only friends. Really, really close friends...
"Oh, okay.." You replied quietly as you walked back to your room with your head hung low.
Your emotions were all over the place, you really wanted to feel excited for Dan... But you couldn't.
You lay in bed all day, listening to music and scrolling through tumblr.
The sky had started to darken when there was a knock at your bedroom door.
"Yes?" You called as the door swung open
"y/n! I really need your help! I have no idea what to wear!"
"Okay, okay. I'm coming.."
Something felt wrong about helping Dan choose an outfit to go on a date with another girl.
As usual he wore his black skinny jeans, accompanied by your favourite top and jacket of his. You watched the movements of his torso as he placed the chosen top on his body.
"Thank-you so much y/n!" Dan says as he pulls you into a tight embrace. You breath in his scent and close your eyes enjoying the moment. You felt so warm and safe when you were locked in Dan's arms.
After a few minutes Dan slowly released you.
"So... Um... I'll see you later.." Dan said, bending down and placing a soft kiss to your cheek before grabbing his phone, wallet and rushing off.
Your cheeks were red and you already missed his touch. You couldn't help but picture him sitting at a table, holding Cat's hands as they laugh and flirt and share kisses at cheesy moments.
"Hey y/n, want to play this with me?" Phil broke you out of your thoughts, holding up the spare Wii U controller.
"Uh, no thanks phil, I'm really tired actually. I'm gonna go to bed" you replied with a false smile on your face.
You lay in your bed with your favourite movie playing on your laptop. Just 1 hour later you heard shuffling around the house.
Your bedroom door swung open and Dan came walking in. Without speaking, he lifted his shirt off his body, lifting your blankets and crawling in next to you. You didn't know what to say so you simply stated at his face in confusion as his eyes stayed on the screen of your laptop.
"It's rude to stare you know?" He finally spoke
"Why are you back so soon? How did it go?" You asked, still confused on what was currently happening.
"Well, I was sitting at the restaurant with Cat but I couldn't get another girl out of my head. Then I realised if I can't be with this other girl then I don't want to be with anyone. And I would much rather lay at home and continuously watch the same movie with this girl than sit at some fancy pants restaurant with a girl I didn't really like that much"
"Oh, so are you going to go see this special girl?" You questioned cheekily
"Oh shut up Y/N!" Dan said as he cupped your cheek and placed his soft, plump lips on yours. It was the most amazing kiss of your life and you never wanted it to end.
