4. I Don't Like Her

Peter POV

"Hey, guys" I say running up to Ned and MJ in front of the school.

"Whats up dude?" Asks Ned

"Where's Y/N?"

"Oh there was a family emergency" answered MJ

"I hope everything's fine" I respond

I'm actually disappointed to hear Y/N isn't coming to school today. MJ sounds suspicious, like what she said isn't the truth. I don't know but I'm going to find out

"Did she get a new top?" I ask Ned at lunch

"No. We've seen that before, but never with that skirt. And I thought you liked Y/N?"

I turn to him "What!? No, me and Y/N we-we're best friends I don't 'like her' 😅"

"Shooore" says Ned laughing a bit

I don't like her. Do I? We've been best friends since we were 12 if I liked her I would've known by now, right? I don't like her, well of course I like her but I don't 'like' like her. Or do I? UGH this is so confusing!

"Hey, Peter it's time to go to class, you've been stuck in your head the whole lunch period"

"Huh?"

"I bet you were thinking of Y/N" whispers Ned

"What! No I wasn't!" I say defensively

"I find that hard to believe"

"I'm not."

"Ok, fine"

I web my backpack against a dumpster and change into my suit, getting ready for patrol. I jump onto a building and start looking around for crime.
I find a good place to sit and look around then I see a girl with h/l (your hair length) h/c hair. She's wearing a denim jacket with a few rips, and metal studs on the shoulders. The jacket looks familiar,

Then I see the t-shirt, its black with the name of a band on it.
When I look closer I can see the word 'Garbage' is writen in orange right on it, Y/N's favorite band.

I've never even heard of it before, until Y/N.

I remember the day I was at her apartment, I came early to help set up movie night. She had her earbuds in rocking out to some music.....
(Italics mean memories or flashbacks)

I see Y/N getting some popcorn out of the pantry, she has her earbuds in and she's really into the music so she doesn't hear me when I ask

"What are you listening to anyway?"

She keeps making the popcorn, I tap her shoulder, she turns, takes out one of her earbuds and I ask again.

"Oh its garbage" she replied

"If it's so bad then, why do you listen to it?"

"No, no silly, GARBAGE, it's the name of the band and it's my favorite. Here listen."

She hands me one of the Bluetooth earbuds she was wearing, the song that's playing is ONLY HAPPY WHEN IT RAINS. After about a minute I say

"It is pretty good"

"Yea and this" she points to her earbud "is my favorite song"

(Memory has ended)

That's when I realize it is Y/N!
But MJ said there was a family emergency? Shouldn't she be at her apartment? I know she has family upstate but then wouldn't she be there?

I know that somthing sus is going on, and I intend to find out.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I have to go back to school and actually sleep. Plus I'm kinda sick rn, but its just a sore throat and a cough and idk if its covid yet.
