Warning: Major Character Death

Pepa sat next to her husband, daughter, and only one of her sons.

"It's okay Pepa, he's in a better place now." Félix said comfortingly through his own tears, kissing the top of his wives head.

Dolores was a sobbing mess, her brother couldn't be dead. Not yet, he was too young, too innocent.

Well, maybe not innocent, Camilo was a bit of a trouble maker. But dead at the age of 16? It wasn't fair.

Antonio was young, only 6 years of age, he couldn't understand as well as everyone else. He knew what death was, he just didn't understand he'd never see his older brother again.

Dolores felt the worst about what'd happened fore she believed it had been her fault.

You see Camilo had been saving her.

She was in trouble, and he rescued her.

He'd been shot multiple times in the stomach. He was bleeding too fast. Apparently Dolores' adrenaline kicked in because her petite body had been able to carry her younger brother all the way to casita before she collapsed.

They hadn't been able to get him to eat anything, he was too weak to chew, to swallow.

That's why Julieta felt it was her fault, she should've been able to get that food down his throat, no matter what it took.

But now the family stood at Camilos grave, he was the first Madrigal to die since Abuelo Pedro.

Pepa was sobbing. "No, Félix, don't tell me its okay, I'm burying my son and I'm not even 40!" She screamed

"Sorry, mi vida." Félix mumbled, he didn't care to argue back that he was going through the same thing as her, and he wasn't sure she'd care anyway.

"I just wish I could have one more day with him, Félix, just one last chance to tell him I love him. The last thing I did was yell at him, the last time I told my son was that I was mad at him." She sobbed out.

It'd been raining all morning because of Pepa, but she didn't care.

All she wanted was her son back...

-
Later that night, Pepa laid down to go to bed. She closed her red eyes and her breathing slowed.

She was startled slightly when she saw Camilo.

"Camilo!" She yelled

"Hey máma! You said you wanted another day, so here it is!"

Pepa hugged her son tightly.

"What brings you to visit me?" Pepa asked

"I wanted to apologize for leaving."

"You don't need to apologize for dying, mijo. I do need to apologize though, if i wouldn't have yelled you and Dolores never would've left the house."

"Máma, it's not your fault! It was my time, it would've happened anyway."

"Well your time was too soon!" Pepa cried out

"I know máma, I know." Camilo said comfortingly, hugging her and rubbing her back.

"I love you Camilo."

"I love you too."

"Why did you have to leave me?" She cried, not really looking for an answer, but Camilo gave one anyway

"It was either me or Dolores, he actually asked us, and I made the choice for the both of us."

"She feels so guilty, Camilo, she thinks it's her fault."

"It's not, and I'll make sure to tell her that."

"Okay darling, I love you, and I'll make sure no one forgets you."

"I love you too máma."

As the final word left Camilos mouth he was gone.
