Félix: 36
Camilo: 16

Warning: Major Character Death

Félix was sleeping soundly, thinking not only of his wife, but also of his son.

He was rather surprised when he saw Camilo.

He hugged his son tightly.

"Hey pápa." Camilo said

"Thank you for saving your sister. You could've let her die, but instead you stepped in and took the bullet yourself. That's what a real hero is, Camilo."

"It was no problem. Dolores means way too much to me for me to have let her take the bullet, and she would've done the same thing for me."

"She feels so guilty, mijo."

"That's what máma said."

"You saw her too?"

"Yeah, I'm going to Dolores next, then Toñito."

"What about your cousins and your aunt and uncles?"

"I'll probably go see Tía Julieta too, just to thank her for trying to save me. But if you could, tell Isabela, Luisa, Mirabel, Agustín, Bruno, and Abuela I love them."

"Of course I will."

"What exactly happened, Camilo."

"Well, Dolores and I had just left casita. We were walking down the streets when we were stopped, Dolores was held at gunpoint. I begged the guy not to hurt her. He pulled me to the side and told me he'd let her go, under one condition. I had to take a bullet. He also said I could go if she took a bullet. Obviously I chose to save Dolores."

Félix hugged his son again.

"You are so brave, Camilo. It takes guts to voluntarily take a bullet to save someone you love, and you did just that."

"It's not that big, pápa."

"Yes it is. Camilo, you're dead. You gave your life to save your sister."

"Okay?"

"Your sister could be dead, but you saved her!"

"Well I should've found a way for us to both live. You and máma shouldn't have to go through this! I'm only 16! You're burying your 16 year old son!"

"Well it's better that than both of you!"

"But I should've been able to get us both out! Or been able to chew the arepa con queso, or just swallow it whole!"

"Camilo, it's not like you died doing something stupid. You died a hero, and Dolores will forever be grateful."

Camilo hugged his father with a teary eye.

"I love you, Camilo."

"I love you too, Pápa."

And with that, Camilo disappeared, but Félix knew exactly where he was going.
