AFTER REALISING THAT SHE couldn't use her powers anymore, Nyx had decided it was for the best to leave the Little Palace. Aleksander had helped her pick a house somewhere in the outskirts of Os Alta, so that she could stay close to the Little Palace, if ever she wanted to come back. She'd been sad to say goodbye to her friends, but she knew it was for the best.

As she stood on the balcony of her room, she smiles as she looks at the view of Os Alta. From here she could see the Little Palace in the distance. Tomorrow was by far one of the most important days for the Little Palace. The King and Queen would be in attendance, even Nikolai had come back for this occasion.

"It's odd, isn't it?" She looks up and smiles as he joins her on the balcony. "I never thought we'd leave it behind."

"Well I never thought I'd wage a war against you." She points out and he chuckles, wrapping an arm around her waist. "But you know, it's for the best. It's time for them to have a much younger General."

"I'm not that old." He says defensively and she gives him a pointed a look.

"You're literally ancient." She teases, and he glares down at her.

"What does that say about you then? You're in love with a literal fossil." He retorts, making her gape at him, before she hits him softly. He can't help but let out a chuckle. "Good thing you're not longer a Heartrender, either wise you'd stop my heart at least ten times a day."

"An understatement really." She giggles, making him smile down at her, before he leans down and presses his lips against hers.

When Nyx decided to leave the Little Palace, Aleksander didn't hesitate to follow her. Deciding to leave his position as General to someone else. He had perhaps not been able to achieve his goals, but he was still able to find happiness with Nyx by his side.

Choosing the new General hadn't been a difficult task, after all that had been Nyx's plan. When Aleksander found out that Nyx had been training Adrian to become General, he couldn't deny that there was anyone better suited for the positions. This would mean that it was the first none Shadow Summoner General in centuries.

Of course, Adrian was still too young to carry the burden by himself. So, Ivan, Zoya and David were appointed as Second in Command. Aleksander and Nyx had assured Adrian that if he ever needed help or guidance, they'd be there. Which means tomorrow was the day that Aleksander would step down and Adrian would replace him.

Now the only issue Nyx and Aleksander faced was figuring out if Nyx had truly lost her abilities in the Small Science or if it was temporary. Nikolai had offered to help do some research on his side, as well as Adrian, while Aleksander would try to help her through training.

Even though the war between them was over and now that everything had calmed down, it didn't mean that things would calm down for the Little Palace. Adrian was now in charge of figuring out a way to destroy the Fold and Alina had of course offered her help. They'd have to find the second and third amplifier she needed to destroy the Fold, which would require months of tracking. But Adrian didn't doubt for a second he wouldn't be able to do it.
