LOOKING AROUND THE BUSY street, she tightens her grip on her bag. This was her first time in Ketterdam, she had done many cities and countries as second in command of the Second Army, but Ketterdam never. It was a different world compared to Os Alta, one she had never considered discovering.
She was unsure where she'd find the trio that she had met under strange circumstances, but she did remember them mentioning something about a Crows Club. The streets being littered with Bars, Inns and Shops, it would take her a while to find the Crows Club. Fortunately enough she had time. For now.
As she pushes past the many people on the streets, she feels the weight of her daggers on the side of her thighs. She could feel eyes on her, possibly thieves considering the possible contents of her bags, not that she would let them even get near her to begin with. It was clear that here she had to keep her guard up.
Glancing up at the signs, she lets out a brief sigh of a relief as she sees Crows Club written on top of one the doors. She was glad it didn't take her too long to find it. Pushing herself towards it, she stops as she recognises the person leaning near the door, a yawn escape his lips. The two pistols hanging from hips, a constant reminder of his abilities as a Sharpshooter.
A smile forms on her lips as she walks towards him and her movement seems to alert him as he straightens up to look in her direction. She could imagine with the hood on, he wouldn't recognise her, so without hesitation she lets it fall. His eyes widen in recognition and a smirks tugs at the corner of his lips.
"What brings the honour of a visit from the General of the Ravkan Rebellion?" Jesper asks, making her chuckle softly as she smiles fondly.
"News travel far." She muses and his smirk goes from amusement to pride.
"The Crows always know everything. I'm certain you're not here for idle talk, so let's head inside. Kaz should be around." Jesper hums as he pushes himself of the wall and leads her inside. She looks around the Club, seeing different Gambling tables filled with all kinds of people. And at the back was a bar, where servers were busy refilling glasses of costumers.
Jesper leads her past all of them, towards a stairway, before letting her walk ahead. She didn't let herself relax too much, even if she felt a little more secure knowing she was with Jesper, but from what she noticed, for the right price they were capable of many things. Since they barely knew each other, they had no reason to not betray her.
As she reaches the top of the stairs, there is a door, making her turn to look at Jesper who nods for her to go ahead. Taking a deep breath she pushes it open and steps into the office. As soon as the door is open, she feels something slice past her, causing her to stiffen. Her eyes land on Inej, who has her hand stretched out and Kaz who seemed to be reaching out for something.
"Charming." Nyx hums as she glances at the dagger wedged in the wall next to her. A slight sting at the tip of her ear, made her grateful she had tied her hair, either wise half of it would be on the floor now.
"Nyx?" Inej looks at her in bewilderment, as rhe Heartrender walks into the office and Jesper follows behind, glancing at the dagger.
"We are usually a little more welcoming to our friends." Jesper huffs, as he closed the door, before he pulls out the dagger and hands it to Inej. Another person appears from behind Kaz and Inej, making Nyx's eyes widen in disbelief.
"Nina?" Nyx gapes in bewilderment.
"Nyx?" The Heartrender gapes at her.
"Of course the two Heartrenders know each other." Jesper says teasingly as he leans against the desk.
"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be leading a Rebellion?" Kaz asks, a slight look of suspicion evident in his eyes. It had always been clear to Nyx, that he didn't trust just anyone.
"That's why I'm here. We lost." Nyx answers, making Inej frown at her words.
"Knowing you, you're not going to stop there. What are you planning?" Nina asks as she crosses her arms over her chest.
"I think we'll need a to sit down to talk about this. Because I have plan, but it is extremely risky." Nyx says honestly and the four of them give each other looks, before glancing back at her. She can sense their weariness and sighs. "I can pay."
"You don't-"
"How much?" Kaz asks, cutting off Inej whk glares at him. Nyx drops the bag on desk and opens it, before nodding for them to take a look in it. Kaz walks up to the bag, his limp still evident. He glances in and takes in a sharp breath. "Those are jewels only worn by loyalty."
"Gifts, a lot of them by delegates to bribe me to get the Darkling on their side. I've kept them stashed somewhere safely in case of emergency." Nyx explains, as the other approach and look inside.
"Saints." Inej breaths out.
