I heard you wrote me a letter
that you forgot to send

I can't help but wonder
if what you wrote is you,
begging for forgiveness,
Or if it's you,
telling me,
I should've stayed and kept quiet

They said it's an apology

But I already know you could never be sorry

They could see the portal from miles away. A light blue stream of energy rose from the Stark Tower and into the sky where a massive hole leading to another point in space had opened up. There were already Chitauri flooding from it, flying all over Manhattan.

"Stark, we're on your three, headed northeast," Natasha spoke into the coms of the jet as they flew closer.

"What? Did you stop for drive-through?" He spoke, slight strain in his voice, and they could already see him in the middle of it. "Swing up Park. I'm gonna lay 'em out for you."

Clint and Natasha did as instructed, going low and flying through the buildings. Stark came streaking past in front of them, Natasha arming the gun immediately and firing. Multiple Chitauri flew past, getting blasted to pieces by the ship's gun.

"Let's keep them occupied," Tony spoke as the jet followed, shooting as many of them down as they could, flying up around Stark Tower. The two Asgardians were standing on top of it, fighting sceptre to hammer.

"Nat?" Clint asked, lining up.

"I see him," she replied, the gun soon aiming right at Him and firing. He did the same, the sceptre aiming for them, and He was able to hit the jet, taking out their engine.

Melora quickly made vines grow, using them to keep herself in place, but seeing as Steve was having the same issue, she let go of one arm, roots shooting out and wrapping around him to keep him steady within the ship.

"Nice landing," she said, feeling the ship jerk as they landed on the ground in front of a building. Clint sent her a fake smile before opening the latch, and Steve grabbed his shield, all four of them walking out and onto the street.

"We got to get back up there," Steve said, running out onto the street where people everywhere were fleeing. They made their way through the buildings, standing by Grand Central Terminal, and from there, they looked up into the portal, watching as the massive space whale flew out.

It knocked over the statue of the terminal, flying right above their heads and truly driving home the size of the beast. It could barely fit between the buildings, its fins scraping against the buildings as Chitauri soldiers shot from it, grabbing onto the buildings around it.

"Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve asked. All of their lines open were open so they could communicate.

"Seeing. Still working on believing," Tony said while Melora grabbed a handful of seeds, readying herself. "Where's Banner has he shown up yet?"

"Banner?" Steve asked.

"Just keep me posted," Tony replied.

Another squadron of Chitauri flew by above their heads, Melora kissing her hand before throwing a seed with all the strength she could muster, and as she felt it between them, she unleashed the growth, roots shooting in every direction and piercing four of the Chitauri.

"We've got civilians still trapped up here," Clint said as Steve pulled her down behind a cab, only just getting her into cover as a shot landed where she had been standing.
