There is a quiet in my heart
Like one who rests from days of pain.
Outside, the sparrows on the roof
Are chirping in the rain.Rain in my heart; rain on the roof;
And memory sleeps beneath the grey
And windless sky and brings no dreams
Of any well-remembered day.I would ask the heavens fair,
Give the golden clouds and breezed mild,
Beg the day, for until my heart
The loss of you has reconciledI struggled so long with the word belong
heard the whispers of home
felt the rain stop,
even for just a momentBut now,
without you?Never before have I been so covered in rain,
so far from where I belong.Soon enough they were back in the car, staying in one place wouldn't be in their favour, and they had to figure out how they were going to stop the launch of Project Insight, somehow.
"HYDRA doesn't like leaks," Sitwell crumbled and Melora was more than grumpy about having to sit so close to the guy. Strangling him was sounding like a better and better idea, and Sam could definitely tell.
"Then why don't you try sticking a cork in it?" He asked, glaring at the bald man through the rear-view mirror.
"Insight's launching in 16 hours," Natasha said, leaning forward to speak with the two men in the front seat. "We're cutting it a little bit close here."
"I know. We'll use him to bypass the DNA scans and access the Helicarriers directly," Steve said while looking out of the window
"What? Are you crazy?" Sitwell asked, also leaning forward and making her even angrier. "That is a terrible, terrible idea."
"Guys!" Melora could feel it. On the roof. A metal arm destroyed the window next to Sitwell, pulling him out of the car. She watched as he was smashed against a truck in the other lane. "Shit!"
Natasha sprung to the front seat, a bullet going through the roof where she was. Melora spread her legs, bullet hitting right between them. The Winter Soldier continued to fire before Steve pulled the hand brake, launchng him from the roof of the car.
The metal arm scraped across the asphalt, catching himself as he got to his feet again. That same dark long hair covering his face along with the mask. A car suddenly hit them from the back, Natasha dropping her gun and forcing them to head straight towards the masked man.
Melora could feel her heart picking up, swearing at herself for letting them take a bridge when she didn't have any seeds with her.
The Winter Soldier jumped, gripping onto the roof of their car and hanging on while Sam tried to regain control of their car but the one from the back had them pinned. The metal arm struck down, grabbing the steering wheel and pulling it out through the windshield.
"Shit!" Sam swore, looking up while Natasha grabbed her gun and started firing Melora tried to lock him into place with her plants, but he jumped back to the other car. They kept driving forward, this time without a steering wheel and the car behind them ran into them.
"Hang on!" Steve yelled as Sam grabbed onto her, pulling her into the front set as Steve kicked out the door on his side, lying on the shield with Natasha and soon enough her and Sam hit it as well, sliding across the highway on top of the door while the rest of the car flipped around in front of them.
